Summit Canine

We absolutely love Summit K9! The staff is incredibly friendly, easy to work with, and clearly genuinely care about the dogs. One of our favorite things is that they send us videos of our dog every day while we’re on vacation. We get to see how much fun she’s having, which makes being away from her so much easier. Our dog absolutely loves going there. She can tell when we’re packing up to leave, because she knows she’s headed to her second favorite home to see all her friends! We also have a 150 pound Boerboel, and Summit K9 has been fantastic with her. Some other places have issues with larger dogs or won’t let them play and socialize with the other dogs, but that has never been an issue here. We are so happy we found Summit K9. They make traveling with a dog a total cinch, and we know she’s having a great time while we’re away. Definitely recommend!

Would highly recommend if you are looking for training services! We sent our dog for the 3 week training and it has truly been life changing! We couldn’t take him out for a walk without him barking at anything and everything. Now we are able to take him to Home Depot, the farmers market and he barely cares about anyone else or other dogs around! He is a much happier dog now after receiving the 3 week training.

There simply aren’t enough words in the English language to express how grateful I am for Mike at Summit Canine. Leaving our German Shorthaired Pointer puppy with someone else for training was one of the hardest decisions I’ve made. I was nervous for so many reasons. I didn’t want to be away from her for weeks, I was terrified she’d lose the goofy, sassy, spunky personality that makes her who she is, and honestly, trusting your baby with someone who starts out as a stranger is scary. Mike came highly recommended. Everyone I talked to called him “the dog whisperer,” and now I completely understand why. When I picked her up, I expected her to be excited to see me, and she absolutely was. She’s always been a total mama’s girl. But what surprised me most was that she kept walking over to Mike, standing by his side, and looking back at me. She wasn’t leaving me. She was showing me that she trusted him, respected him, and felt safe with him. I’ll admit I was a little jealous, but more than anything, it told me everything I needed to know about the kind of person Mike is. Dogs don’t fake trust. If my dog believes in someone that deeply, that’s all the proof I need that he’s an incredible human being. Throughout her training, Mike sent daily videos showing what they were working on, explaining not only what he was teaching but why it mattered. He never made me feel like I was asking too many questions, whether during pickup or afterward through texts. His patience, knowledge, and genuine love for dogs are unmatched. The best part? I didn’t just get back an obedient dog. I got back my dog. Her personality is still completely intact. She’s still the same hilarious, confident, affectionate little girl I dropped off, just with structure, confidence, and the ability to make great decisions. In fact, she genuinely seems happier. She listens. She recalls off leash. She walks beautifully. She settles herself. She’ll even put herself in place or go into her kennel without being asked. I can invite friends over without worrying they’ll get tackled by an incredibly enthusiastic 40-pound puppy who will eventually be much bigger. I can sit on my front porch with a cup of coffee and simply enjoy watching her play without constantly worrying she’ll run off or become distracted by every person or dog that passes by. The freedom and peace of mind Mike gave both of us is priceless. Training didn’t just change my dog. It changed our relationship. I feel like we understand each other better, communicate better, and enjoy life together so much more. If you’re on the fence about trusting someone with your dog, I understand because I was too. But I can say with complete confidence that choosing Mike was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made for both of us. Thank you, Mike, for giving me not just a well trained dog, but an even happier one. That is a gift I’ll never be able to repay.
