Summit Canine

We love Mike and Haley at Summit Canine! Betty (my puppy) was having trouble walking on a leash and was jumping on people. After she spent 4 days at Summit Canine she was calm, understood more basic commands, and walks on a leash like a champ. While Betty was away I received a lot of videos showing her progress (she was having so much fun meeting horses and cows that I felt bad picking her up!). Mike has a great philosophy when training your dog. He is not a militant dog trainer. Instead, he has a realistic approach that is easy to understand and adopt into your family. She will definitely be going back for boarding or more training as needed.

I can’t recommend Summit Canine enough. Whether you’re looking to do a board and train or you’re just looking for daycare, your dog will come back to you happier, calmer, and more socialized. Mike and Hailey are immensely knowledgeable, but they never stop learning - they’re the type of people who spend their free time reading books and taking seminars on dog training. I’ve worked side by side with them training service dogs for years and they’re incredible. They care so much about each dog they work with and cater their training style to whatever works best for the individual dog. They’ve created Summit Canine to be a version of dog heaven. The dogs get to play outside, get all the cuddles, get to hang out under misters, splash in the pool, and get to just be dogs - all while learning how to interact appropriately, and how to be calm. I cannot say enough about Summit Canine! Mike and Hailey have created the perfect boarding experience. We have a 4 year old Bernedoodle, Nellie who had never boarded before. Nellie was immediately comfortable and at ease with Mike. He is soft spoken and has a very calm and patient demeanor. The grounds are immense and beautifully maintained. Literally “Dog Heaven”! The daily routine is a perfect combination of play and rest time. They feed the dogs according to their regular eating schedule, 2 times a day or 3 depending on your dog. They also administered medication for Nellie for an ear infection she had developed. We chose the In Home boarding + training and could not have been happier with our choice. Nellie was integrated into their home and routine and felt right at home. A training need for Nellie is leash training which they did throughout the day. Nellie learned quickly and did very well. They sent pictures and videos each day so we could see how she acclimating and how the training was going. When we picked her up she was happy to see us, and very much “herself” which was all the reassurance I needed to know she’d had a great experience. We will return to Summit Canine in the future without hesitation. We highly recommend this fabulous boarding facility.

Mike is the best trainer we’ve ever worked with! We adopted a veeerrry stubborn dog with a bad past and he has helped us form a positive relationship with our dog and allow us the opportunity to give him a better, calmer, life. Mike truly puts in the work with all of his clients and always makes sure that your best interest is in mind. The way that he explains things makes everything easier and understandable and really makes his service top notch. I couldn’t think of a better person to trust with my baby.
