Stevenson Gun Dog and Obedience has truly exceeded our expectations! We brought our dog, Sig, to their board and train program with hopes of addressing his noise reactivity issues, working on his obedience and hopefully working towards Sig being a hunting dog, which we weren't sure of. From the moment we stepped through the door, we were greeted with warmth and professionalism. After the first day at board and train we received a call. They were honest and told us they weren't sure if Sig would be a hunting dog because of his noise reactivity.  This wasn't a surprise, and we appreciated the honesty, discussed our options, and agreed to keep Sig in the program and to continue with the obedience and to see if they can help him get past his issues to be a hunting dog. The trainers at Stevenson Gun Dog and Obedience demonstrated a remarkable level of expertise and care. They took the time to understand Sig's unique needs and crafted a plan to help him overcome his challenges. Their patience and dedication were evident after the first visit. After just two weeks Sig is doing amazing!  He is not bothered by the noises as much and is retrieving very well, healing and is so happy.  I am so impressed with what they have accomplished in a short period of time, and I can't wait to see how far they can take him. My wife and I just returned from seeing Jeff about some obedience issues we are having with our 4 - year old Golden Doodle, Hudson. When he was 1 year old, we had Hudson attend Jeff's 4-week obedience training and we were very pleased with the outcome. During the past several months, Hudson has been testing the boundaries and we called Jeff and scheduled a 30 minute refresh with him and Hudson. As we are returning clients with a Stevenson trained dog, Jeff met with us for no charge and helped us get Hudson back on track. Basically, we were also making some key mistakes in our commands and Jeff and Kade also helped strengthen our knowledge of how we should command Hudson. This session was timely and exceptionally well received by Hudson and us. Thank you Jeff and Kade for taking the time to help Hudson be a better member of our family. Our British lab Remy finished training with Jeff and Kade. It was great to see her progress weekly for obedience and retrieving. She is a high energy dog that will be ready to hunt now. I can also truly say it’s enjoyable to have her in the house and to go on walks now! Remy was very happy staying & training with Jeff & Kade for the last 2 months. At first I was worried about missing her or if she would be stressed out being away from home. I soon realized I didn’t need to worry at all as she loved it there and I could see this at each weekly visit. My partner and I strongly recommend Stevensons Gun Dog and Obedience! Our pointer lab mix Maverick was here for 3 months for both obedience and hunting and his progress from start to finish was amazing to watch. Both Jeff and Kade took in Maverick as if he was their own dog. We had weekly visits to see his progress, and week after week you could see improvement. We felt like Maverick was 100% safe and healthy in Jeff and Kades care and we will be taking our future dogs to get trained here.
