Steady On Point

Being new to upland and owning a GSP i looked around for the right trainer. I saw many reviews for Steady on Point and all were 5 stars. I listened to many of my friends on what to do and how to do it. Not even two minutes with Alan and he was noting Midas' behavior and explaining what my dog was feeling. Alan made me feel very comfortable with leaving a member of my family with him. Alan explained every detail. I can not believe the transformation of my GSP and how he hunted on our first hunting adventure. I wish I had more one on one time with Alan to gain more knowledge on dogs and how they learn. This was a fantastic experience and I would recommend anyone to him. Thank you so much for helping my family, my dog and myself.

If you are looking for a hunt dog trainer and have found yourself here at Steady On Point, don’t bother going anywhere else. Al was an excellent teacher to both myself as the handler and my pup. He has a gift with dogs that comes naturally. Most of all the primary focus of POSITIVE reinforcement for his training method. The dogs are encouraged, not forced, bringing out their natural ability while having fun and pleasing their handler. He trains and boards your pup at an excellent facility, any needs your dog will have, it will be handled! Al will love your dog like his own, I would trust him with any of my dogs.

Our dog Trixie (8mo GSP) was the toughest dog we’ve ever had. She’s super stubborn, smart, and has a very dominant personality. I could not train her for the life of me. I gave up on even trying to walk her because she’d pull so hard. If she got off leash she’d be gone with us chasing after her hoping she got on a good scent so we could attempt to catch up to her. Zero recall whatsoever. We reached out to Alan for help because we were desperate. Trixie spent 2 weeks at the Steady on Point obedience training and she’s like a whole new dog. Alan taught us how to balance the relationship where she doesn’t think she runs the show anymore. She’s only been home a day and what a difference. She has recall where I say here and she comes to sit at my feet. Took her in a walk around the neighborhood and she was wonderful on the leash. I had tried previously and failed miserably at teaching her to wait at door thresholds and now she listens great. We know she’s still a work in progress and have to keep up with training, but I’m so impressed at the improvement and can see what a great dog she can be. She still sweet, goofy Trixie but now we aren’t struggling every step of the way. My husband and I couldn’t be more appreciative of Alan’s training and highly recommend if you have a stubborn high energy tough to train pup like ourselves.
