Staten Island Companion Dog

A family member brought a Red Field Setter to our urban home. I was at a complete loss on how to live with such a high energy and curious dog. Club members were committed to helping us learn how to accommodate the needs of the breed including exercise, training and love; and, now Seamus is a law enforcement therapy dog and has several titles including Elite Performer Tricks Dog which is the highest level achievable.

I originally brought my dog Luna to SICDTC for basic training because when I first adopted her, she had a lot of energy and we had a lot to learn together. I enjoyed the classes and saw so much progress in her that I continued enrolling in additional classes to further her training. What started as simply wanting a well-mannered dog eventually grew into something I never expected—we now compete together in Rally and Obedience, and I became a club member along the way. SICDTC has played such an important role in how far Luna and I have come as a team. The instructors have taught me so much, and the club has given us a wonderful, supportive community of people who genuinely want to see each other succeed. I’m incredibly grateful for everything we’ve learned and for the friendships I’ve made along the way.
