I adopted two pitbull terriers. One is 8 years old and the other a year old. I initially tried training them myself and failed miserably. I then interviewed several trainers and decided to use Starr Dog Behavior after an in home visit with Joseph. He shared a wealth of information and the way he works with dogs. Joseph identified training needs and approach for each dog individually. After three weeks, the dogs are much more calm and relaxed and great companions. Joseph trained two confused dogs and helped them become calm, balanced, and more obedient. But most of all he taught me how to be a good leader for the dogs. They are not perfect but they have been given a foundation to build upon and Joseph has given me instruction on how to work with them so they can be the best dogs they can be. I am extremely happy with the care and training has delivered to my dogs and I recognize that I must continue the training moving forward. I am excited for the dogs futures.

Let me start out by saying that I have a Doberman that is 1 year old and she is the most stubborn dog in the world. She is the sweetest dog but she has no manners. She will knock over my kids when she is excited and pull on the leash during our walks like the floor is made of lava. She can seriously pull a sleigh of 10 grown adults no problem. It became to the point where she was giving me so much anxiety and I was dreading waking up to start my day with her. That’s where Joseph at Starr dog behavior steps in. I was frantically looking for dog trainers and found him on google. I called him to make sure he knew what he was doing and he gave me enough confidence to book him for the 3 week board and train. While she was gone, my life was less stressful and enjoyed my little three week vacation knowing that she will be trained when she comes home. Well, she is finally home and she is so much better. She is still stubborn but she is obedient and I actually enjoy being with her now. Joseph had to train me and my family on how to keep up with her training and show her that we are alpha and in charge. We are still a work in progress and will be until my Doberman is older but I am 100 percent happy with what Joseph did with our dog and his professionalism. He is always responsive and happy that he will be a part of our family.
