Starkey K9

Our German Shepherd, Gunner, was 7 months old when we found Starkey K9. Gunner was very reactive to everything - kids, people and especially dogs. He had zero recall - he was “a lot”. Gunner spent 5 weeks with Garrett and we have a different dog! We can now have people over and not worry about barking or jumping - he can “place” on his bed for as long as I need him to. I can take him anywhere and have confidence he won’t leave my side. I can go on walks with him and not have to worry about the reactivity and pulling. He is the dog I’d hoped he would be. Garrett is a miracle worker! I have also used Starkey K9 for boarding - Gunner is safe and gets the training reinforcement while there. Starkey K9 provides a clean, loving and safe environment. Garrett has done a remarkable job working with my boy! He is the third trainer that I’ve worked with and the last! His training philosophy aligns with what I knew my strong boy needed. We have taken a dog aggressive boy and have built a confident, happy, working dog. Garrett knows what working dogs need and how to train based on their energy. A few things that I love the most about training with Garrett is his knowledge that positive reinforcement and correction is needed and we work in my dog’s environment using every day distractions as an opportunity to train. We aren’t stuck in an isolated room where distractions don’t exist. My dog is my everything and seeing him happy and playful and not on alert during walks warms my heart!
