We came to South Metro Dog Training at a time when we were really struggling with our Portuguese Water Dog puppy, Obie. He had begun showing signs of human aggression, which we believe stemmed from his attempts to assert dominance—not just over our other dog, Tito (a 7-year-old male), but over us as well. The tension in the household was rising quickly, and we knew we needed expert guidance. Sandy and her team were absolutely incredible. They took the time to work with each dog individually to better understand their needs and personalities, then brought them together in a controlled, thoughtful way. Their experience was obvious right from the start. They helped us understand Obie's behavior and gave us the tools and confidence to take back leadership in a positive, structured way. Obie is still a work in progress, but we now have a solid foundation for managing his behavior—especially when introducing him to strangers. Both dogs are listening better, the household feels calmer, and we feel empowered instead of overwhelmed. We are so grateful to Sandy and her team for helping us navigate what felt like an impossible situation. Their knowledge, patience, and support have made a world of difference. Our puppy spent three weeks with the staff training. Before we dropped her off I couldn’t really take her anywhere, and she had to be kenneled when people came to our house. She was also too intense with other dogs so I couldn’t take her to a dog park. I picked her up today and had to rush to soccer practice with hundreds of people around. She was absolutely amazing. So many people commented on how well behaved she is. It’s just a night and day difference. The entire team is just amazing and I HIGHLY recommend South Metro Dog Training to anyone who is desperate to fix behavioral issues with their dogs. I will also be using them for boarding in the future. The amount of pictures they post is awesome. And the staff truly spends a lot of time playing and cuddling with all of the dogs.
