SOS K9 Training

SOS K9 training was the best experience I could ask for with my first dog. Rahmeloh and his team were patient, kind efficient and filled with resources all while being extremely fair in pricing. SOS K9 training also offers group sessions outside of the 1:1 trainings we did which have been so great for my puppy's socialization and putting her training to the test. They have taught me everything and more and I could not recommend them enough. In the future, I now know the tools and foundation for how to train another puppy. Thank you SOS you were amazing!!

SOS K-9 is sincerely the best ! First and foremost I want to thank Trainer Melo , Trainer Chris and Trainer Yohanis for their unwavering compassion when it came to the sensitivity of sending our little man away for boarding and for guiding us every step of the way. I will try not to make this extremely lengthy but just enough so you can get a better idea of how humane , dedicated , honest, compassionate, personable, relatable and honestly the BEST these trainers are. My fiancé and I were referred to them through a mutual friend who went through the boarding process with their own rescue!! At first I’m not going to lie I was extremely nervous about giving Niko boy up for ten days so he can go to puppy obedience school we just rescued him on March 9th,2024 from the Animal Care Centers of NYC, Staten Island location where the team said they found our little man wandering the streets in a pack with a female dog who was older and more severely malnourished than Niko who at this time was about 9 months old and 35lbs. Fast forward to a month later Niko was growing and healthier than the little man has ever been and growing in both weight, size and temperament although he was double his weight he was still in his puppy phase. I knew I had an upcoming shoulder surgery and our dog walker was so supportive with helping us with Niko every step of the way but her and I both needed help, when we were referred to SOS K-9 when trainer Melo did the orientation with my fiancé and I he didn’t give us pressure, he wasn’t brass in his delivery. Melo , was extremely HUMBLE , relatable , HONEST, and loved dogs ! He gave us a time line of how him and his team grew from his college years playing football , graduating , and landing himself a nice blue collar job, he told us about he wanted more in life and how much he missed his dogs during his 9-5 . He knew he wanted to give his dogos the BEST LIFE possible so he went away to school and brought his own dog as he went through the Certified Dog Training Academy he went into the psychology of animals and dogs in specific to behavioral patterns, routine, what makes a dog happy what he wanted from training and what he wanted to give back to the community . He related to my injuries and wanted to make sure my fiancé and I were both comfortable and safe. Once Melo went into pricing it was a bit nerve wrecking for my fiancé and I being as I’m currently still recovering from shoulder surgery . He expressed to us not only his compassion and willingness to work with us but he also told us to take all the information he gave us those two hours in our home and do our own due diligence and research. My fiancé and I never felt pressured, which was something that made the process easy for the both of us Melo gave us just about a months time and had we needed more time we would’ve been understanding . It was not even a week and half after Melos visit where we decided we would make the decision to send Niko boy to boarding . Trainer Melo arrived at our home with all the necessary authorizations along with Trainer Chris who Niko boy stayed with during the 10 days of boarding and worked with our little man diligently for those 10 days . It was extremely hard for us to be away from Niko and our concern was because he was a rescue I didn’t want him to feel like we were just giving him up. Trainer Melo & Trainer Chris updated us throughout those ten days every step of the way and showed us how much Niko was progressing. Niko went from playful puppy biting and latching to actually understanding “ No” and to respect my fiancé and my hand as we continue to use the “ Hand feeding method “ during our morning and midday walks. After boarding our dog walker was kind enough to join us in the personal one on one sessions where she learned the basic obedience commands that would allow her to feel safe and comfortable walking Niko boy. Trainer Melo even allowed for our second dog Luna Belle although she was previously trained by my fiancé he allowed for Luna Belle to partake ! This team is the absolute GREATEST!

My experience with SOS was life changing. I love my dog but he was having so many issues due to his anxiety. He displayed so many negative behaviors and I didn't know how to train him to not do the things I didn’t want him to do. It was very stressful and frustrating. The guys were so great with him and through the training my Teddy now is happy and obedient. I mainly worked with Rahmeloh and Chris and these guys were the best. They cared so much about teaching me the right techniques to get Teddy to listen. Put the time in and you can have the opportunity to understand your dog and form an even closer bond.
