Social Tailwaggers Dog Training & Behavior Consultation

I would highly recommend Jody to anyone looking for a professional, positive and effective dog training. It’s been a fantastic start for us and our puppy. Everything is well organized, positive and supportive. Jody is very knowledgeable and patient and cares about dogs and owners . Every session gave us tools we could use right away. Questions were always encouraged and explained clearly. We had such a great experience!!!

We have been working with Jody for more than a year for our rescued anxious and fearful puppy-mill dog, Maple. Jody comes to our home, and she's been ever patient and kind with us and with Maple, and endlessly compassionate with all of us. We have a binder full of lessons and tips/tricks to help us work with Maple, to build her confidence (and ours!), and to help us with all the dogs in our family. Honestly, it took a very long time for Maple to start opening up to Jody (and for one of our other dogs as well), and Jody never batted an eye. She never got impatient or insulted, and she never rushed the relationships. She worked with what the dog(s) offered her, and structured the appointments so that we could do the work under her guidance so that even though Maple might not approach Jody, we could still move forward with the lessons. When we considered adopting another dog, we consulted with Jody and she prepared us for what might be a difficult transition. And when we did end up struggling, she came up with a game plan for us that worked exactly as she said it would. Although our initial expectations with Jody was to get help only with Maple, all along the way Jody helped us with all of our dogs, including adding the newest family member. No matter what came up along the way, Jody was always available with advice, with kind and supportive words, and with the patience of a saint. Not only would we recommend Jody, we have done so several times to family for their dogs. I've also recommended her to the rescue(s) we worked with recently when they've asked who we have had success with. We've worked with several trainers over the course of the last ten years, and Jody is the best of all of them. We're so pleased to have found her and we know she's going to continue to be a part of our pack because we can always learn new things from her to keep our pack well-balanced and happy.

Puppy socialization class was more than I expected. I took more away from that class in 5 weeks that I ever could have in any other class. Jody took the time to explain the “why” of each activity. She truly gave us the puppy’s perspective of things and it made it so much easier for me to work with my puppy at home being able to understand the psychology of a dog. I will definitely be continuing to take classes and communicate with Jody!
