My husband and I were one of many that got a puppy during the pandemic. We have a Shetland Sheepdog - Chelsea- and we knew she was very smart and full of energy, so we knew we wanted to have a trainer come in to help her live her best life. Todd came highly recommended and we were able to schedule a meet & greet within days. His approach to training was positive reinforcement which was the only method we would ever consider. She is such a well-behaved girl and while we put the work in, we couldn’t have achieved this goal without Todd’s guidance & knowledge. We are forever grateful that our paths crossed!! Client review - posted by Todd. We adopted a 1 ½ year old Golden Retriever in June 2019. He is beautiful; however, extremely strong and untrained. I recently had back surgery. Therefore, his strength and lack of training made even walking him impossible. I reached out to my vet’s office manager to get a recommendation for a trainer. She immediately told me about Todd Sokol (So Kool Dog Training). She stated how wonderful he was with his own dog when they came in for an appointment. I contacted Todd and made arrangements to start training. His fee schedule is very affordable and he is very accommodating about scheduling sessions. His approach is very intelligent, structured yet kind. I cannot express enough how much of an improvement we have seen with our puppy. I have trained dogs in the past, but the methods Todd uses (he’s a honors graduate from The Academy for Dog Trainers) are based upon proven science strategies of operant and classical conditioning that help your dog be successful. I also highly recommend the “one-on-one” sessions as the feedback for the owner is immediate and personal, which is crucial especially with existing behavior issues dogs may possess.
