SmartyPup! has been training puppies and teaching people since 1994. We specialize in science-based, reward-based training for puppies and adolescent dogs, focusing on the first two years and the human-dog bond. Our mission is to help you raise a confident, well-mannered dog through positive, developmentally appropriate training. We offer Puppy Socials, Small Dog Socials, structured Puppy Day Camp, and specialty classes like Happy Leash and Pro Recall. At SmartyPup!, we train the whole family because great dog training starts with great human coaching. Located in San Francisco’s Outer Sunset, we’ve helped thousands of pups (and their people) thrive.

As the puppy training classes go, this is definitely a good place . My only other point of reference would be ASPCA which I and my older Schipperke attended and I'd recommend both places somewhat as equally good. My only other point of reference would be ASPCA which I and my older Schipperke attended and I'd recommend both places somewhat as equally good. However, Smarty Pup's training space is much smaller and a tad claustrophobic for my Schipperke's palate. Pleasant, knowledgeable staff and cleanliness are obvious and if your pup doesn't mind confined space it's a good place to start. All that said regarding very limited space the place has , there are twice as many dogs in class then ASPCA. Our current class has over a dozen pups.
Great trainers who really care. The work wonders starting your pup off on the right path to becoming a model dog citizen. A good investment in your furry friend.
