I called to make an appointment with the owner Danyell for my new puppy. I was looking forward to the training session due to other people’s positive experiences and was hoping that I would experience the same, especially because I had some reservations about my dog’s behaviors that I needed help getting under control. What I was not expecting however was for her to also bring her own dog to the training session, which in hindsight was a red flag because I should have been made aware of in advance. I understand part of training is to desensitize dogs to possible triggers which includes other dogs, but it did catch me off guard but luckily my baby is not reactive to other dogs, but it could have caused issues. When I brought this up with her it felt like she was dismissive of my concerns and blew it off as if it was nothing, which did not make me feel valued as a client.

We are thrilled to find smart pits academy! She has turned our lives around by training and socializing our young male dog and us as owners. I have been able to learn so much and our boy is getting better every time we see the pack. With Danyel's guidance, we have changed from a socially anxious to a confident dog that can follow commands off leash in a group setting and one-on-one. I have always known that my energy has held us back with socializing with new dogs but Danyel has shown me how to be confident and calm. I love the one-on-one training but my favorite part is seeing my boy thrive in a pack of new dogs Still 1yr later loving all the improvements in my dogs. We have referred my grandma and her dog is doing so much better. The pack walks are so great for building a community of like minded amazing dog owners. I am so greatful for Danyel!
