There is quite a bit involved when it comes to service dog training, so we ask that you contact us for a consultation. Your dog may not be eligible based on breed or age, but we can help point you in the right direction.

I initially brought my cattle dog in for the 5 day board and train to help build his confidence and decrease anxiety. The consultation went smoothly and the assured me they were knowledgeable in herding dogs and the trainers gained my full trust. Brooks and I also participated in follow up classes and he attends the Muscle Mutts on days I can’t be home with him. He is always more than excited to attend and I enjoy receiving report cards telling me about his day. I can definitely say our relationship as an owner/dog has improved tremendously and I highly recommend their services!

I gave two stars because they did train my dog to respond to commands while at their facility with their trainers. If you would like to learn how to use those skills so your dog will respond to you and your family in your home, or in public, it's probably not going to happen. This wasn't a fluke. I have had two dogs from different backgrounds go through the board and train program and I ended up at almost the same results. One was a 10 month old, male, rescue Great Dane. The other was a 12 week old, female, Great Dane puppy from a breeder. When signing up the second dog I called Bri and spoke with her about all my concerns. When I told her about the male being highly reactive and lunging at other dogs in public, she replied that "he would never do that with me." Exactly. The trained people know how to do things. I don't. I rarely got the opportunity. Their schedule rarely allowed us to spend time with the dog and the trainers. I got page long emails, and a few videos. We did have two sessions with the trainers. The first one, she talked for 40 minutes. No dog work. We learned that our dog is a large breed dog so she is learning where her feet are. Use the kennel for potty training. Everything she told us to do , we were doing. The second session was a few weeks later and it was valuable. We did more dog with feedback work. The most surprising part of this were all the things the trainer did that weren't in the emails or videos to coach our dog. Schedules didn't allow any more sessions.
When we got the male, we bought him a doggie backpack so he could go hiking and on trips with us. In his 10 years, he never went because we never had confidence that he wouldn't hurt another dog or pull my arm out of the socket. After he was euthanized due to Wobbler's, we got a puppy. Determined to use the backpack this time, I spent countless hours working with her. Seriously. I work from home. I set a timer and worked with her for 10 minutes every hour for 10 hours a day for three months. She started boarding and training at 13 weeks old. At 7 months, we were at the same place as the male except she was also reactive to men. Not my husband or son but any others. I tried several times to get help. Every time the answer was she needed to spend more time at their facility boarding and training. She was okay in our home but not in the front yard or anywhere else. At 7 months old, I asked about her going to group classes (which is part of the package--lifetime group classes). Us with the trainer in an environment where she is challenged and they can tell us what we are doing wrong. They told me she was not invited because she was too reactive. Yah, you read that right. That's when I found a new trainer. For half the money, the trainer came to my house 1 hour per week for 6 weeks. The first 10 minutes you learn today's skill without the dog. Then the trainer takes the dog and you watch them teach your dog that skill--10 minutes. Then each family member takes the dog and works on the skill while the trainer critiques. This part was invaluable. We didn't know what we were doing wrong. The details are key. We'd practice all week-about 20 minutes a day and could text or call with questions. The last couple of lessons are at the park or in public somewhere. It's been tough unlearning and retraining both us and the dog. She is now 11 months old. Two weeks ago, I cut the tags off the backpack and she went trail hiking with us. I won't use Sit Now Stay again.

This is an excellent facility with very talented, friendly and committed trainers and staff. My dog loves to go there and we have been working with kat and are looking forward to our future classes. I very highly recommend Sit Now Stay Dog Training.
