We just completed our training with Sit Means Sit and I honestly can’t say enough good things about our experience — especially working with Dave. Our dog Finley is an Australian Labradoodle who is extremely social and friendly, but that actually became a problem on leash. He would stare hard at other dogs, then lunge and bark, making walks stressful and unpredictable. Inside the house, he was also very reactive to noises and would bark at everything. We felt like we were doing everything right, but couldn’t break the cycle. In just about a week of training, the improvement has been incredible. Finley went from reacting to almost every dog to being able to walk past 15+ dogs calmly, even in high-distraction environments like Bass Pro Shop. He now glances at dogs and keeps moving instead of locking in and escalating. He’s walking right beside us, checking in, and actually thinking instead of reacting. What surprised us most is how the training carried over into everyday life. Finley is noticeably calmer in the house — far less barking, more relaxed, and better able to settle. He can now hold “place” even when guests come over, which was something we never thought possible before. And just as importantly, he is still the same happy dog. He still plays, eats, wags his tail, and is excited to see people and dogs he knows — just with much better control. Dave is a huge reason for this success. He is incredibly hands-on and genuinely cares about the outcome for both the dog and the owner. One moment that really stood out — I called him because I was struggling to get Finley to respond consistently, and Dave drove 30 minutes for an unscheduled visit just to help me work through it in person. That level of commitment is rare. He doesn’t just train the dog — he teaches you how to handle real-world situations, which is what actually makes the difference. If you’re dealing with leash reactivity or just want better control and communication with your dog, I highly recommend Sit Means Sit Easton and Dave. The results speak for themselves.
