Sit Means Sit Dog Training St. Petersburg

I used to dread taking my dog out. She’s very large, very strong, and was very dog reactive. Having to use the elevator in the apartment was so scary. I was always worried the door would open and another dog would be on the other side. I would walk her super late at night to avoid seeing other people. I didn’t trust her. It made me so sad because I know she’s a great dog, she just didn’t know how to manage her big emotions. She was very easily excited and I could tell she just didn’t know how to process it. Pair that with a bad experience at a dog park (don’t go!), and she was lunging and barking and very aggressive towards dogs. She would drag me wherever she wanted to go. Then we met Mark and angel at sit means sit. We did a 3 day board and train and kept up with the group classes. I have shed tears at her transformation. Being able to take her to get coffee with me again. Walking down busy central avenue with her walking right next to me on a loose leash. She knew a lot of “tricks” previously, but would never be able to do more than sit in public because she was so unfocused. She has been transformed. I thank Mark and Angel so much for this. If you are on the fence, do it. Having a trusting relationship with your dog, with focus and calm, is such a huge quality of life improvement for both of us. I get to enjoy having her again. I get to enjoy how smart she is. And learn even more with her. And she can enjoy life again, not being scared and overstimulated by everything. Absolutely worth it and thank you so much from the both of us.

Working in different cities for unknown duration makes puppy training extra challenging. I stumbled upon Sit Means Sit because it was close by my lodging and I liked what I saw online. My big girl has had some board and train time but I was never really trained nor did I know all she knew. Every time we go to a lesson I’ve felt like Mark and Angel really “get” my dog. She’s quirky and hilarious and I didn’t want that to change like I felt the board and train experience kind of did. But Macy is learning how to be a great low stress companion in my unusual life thanks to these guys at SMS. The group training has shown us both just how well mannered a dog can be around other dogs and just what I can soon expect from my girl. I’m hoping an equivalent experience awaits us at a SMS wherever I’m working or living next.
