Sit Means Sit Dog Training Pittsburgh North

This is the first time my husband and I did any sort of dog training and Matt was and continues to be awesome to work with. He has so much knowledge and experience and he was able to help us train our adopted cattle dog mix of 1-2 years old. We've made incredible progress with basic commands, potty training, leash training, behaving during car rides, and handling distractions. I only recommend working with Matt if you plan on actually putting the time and effort into the training - if not you will be wasting your time and money!

My bloodhound was not allowing people into the house that did not already live there. She was a scaredy cat, her nickname was “Scooby-Doo”. Because she was so scared she felt the need to go after people, she would have a fear response. I took her to Matt and he helped us build up her confidence and now we can handle new people, loud noises, and new experiences. He always wanted to know the good and bad through training so he could give us the most accurate advice/lessons. The lessons sometimes seemed like they would take a left turn out of nowhere but he really knows what he’s doing because it the end it all came together and she was better than I had hoped she would be. He helped us fix issues that I didn’t even realize were issues and now my dog listens to me better than I had ever anticipated. It also helped that Matt was always there to answer our questions even after our last lesson he still answers. He genuinely cares about his clients. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is looking to train their dog.

We have a rescue with extreme leash reactivity. He was very anxious on a leash whenever we encountered another dog. We could not walk him without him shrieking and lunging at them. We had tried many methods to get him to stop and had pretty much resigned to the fact that this is what we’ll have to deal with. After only 2 sessions with Matt, he is a completely different dog! We live in a townhome community where everyone has dogs and he is a pleasure to walk now. He does nothing but look when we encounter other dogs and no longer pulls as we walk. I can’t recommend Matt & Sit Means Sit enough! I really didn’t think anything could change my dog’s behavior, but I was wrong!
