What people have asked about this business.

Can you provide more details about how the Dream Dog Training program for older dogs in Westchester ensures that dogs remain obedient and responsive after completing the training?

The Dream Dog Training program is designed to make sure older dogs stay obedient and responsive even after the training ends. This program offers one full training day per week over four to six weeks where dogs practice amidst real-life distractions like visits to parks and interacting with other dogs. The training focuses on using the Sit Means Sit Collar, which gives a gentle tap to get the dog's attention without hurting them. The program follows a three-phase process. First is the teaching phase, where dogs learn commands during the initial 6–12 weeks. Next is the reinforcement phase, where dogs gradually stop needing the collar. Lastly, there's the maintenance phase, where good behaviors are sustained. This practical approach helps dogs learn to behave well even without constant supervision, ensuring they listen and respond in any situation.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I can’t say enough great things about Sit Means Sit Dog Training! From the moment we walked in, Neal, Samantha, Chris, Alexa, and the entire staff made us feel welcome and supported. They are knowledgeable, patient, and always attentive—taking into consideration each dog’s needs and personality during the training. Our son Bo, a stubborn Frenchie-Dachshund mix, is taking a little longer to learn—partly because of his breed and partly because his parents (us!) have been a bit slow with follow-through. The great news is, with the Lifetime Membership, Sit Means Sit will continue working with him as long as he needs. He also gets unlimited free group classes and participates in all the fun activities the team organizes, which has been wonderful for his growth and socialization. We’ve seen firsthand how effective the program can be: two of our friends, one with a poodle and the other with a labrador mix, had amazing results and couldn’t be happier with their dogs’ transformation. What stands out most is how much Neal, Samantha, Chris, Alexa and the staff genuinely care about both the dogs and their families. They go above and beyond, and it shows in every interaction. If you’re looking for professional, effective, and compassionate dog training, I highly recommend Sit Means Sit. They truly deserve every bit of this 5-star rating!

I spent months looking for a training program that would be perfect for myself and for my dog Naiya, without having to just send my dog away. As a new dog owner, I had no idea what I was doing and lacked the confidence. I took a couple of group classes which helped my dog get a basic understanding but little to no obedience. After just a consult with Neil, I knew that this would be the perfect program for her. She is still learning but she has gotten so much better than she was. I would definitely recommend this to anyone. The videos were great, and the classes were easy to understand.

The team at Sit Means Sit gave me back my life, my dogs, and my sanity. After some heavy life changes, my two (one border collie and one chihuahua mix) seemingly docile dogs became unbearable to handle. Pulling on leash, barking constantly, reactivity to other dogs/animals, screaming, you name it. Working with the team here has helped not only my dogs become better dogs, but they have helped me as an owner better understand how to read my dogs’ needs and behavior. After working with the team for 6 weeks, especially Chris and Alexa, I have seen major results in my dogs’ behavior and temperament. I no longer have overwhelming anxiety when leaving my apartment to walk them and wonder what horrible thing will happen next. I can now enjoy my times with my pups. Group classes held are extremely helpful and the “lifetime training” makes it possible that I can continue to grow their skills long after their private sessions are completed. The team treats your pups as if they were their own showing them love and praise constantly. I have seen the team say hello to every dog and owner that comes in as if they were life long friends. It’s really a positive environment and a shining beacon of hope when you’re feeling really down about your current situation. I highly recommend taking your dogs to Sit Means Sit. Make the investment and put in the time you will thank yourself for it!
