What people have asked about this business.

Can you provide more details about how the Dream Dog Training program for older dogs in Westchester ensures that dogs remain obedient and responsive after completing the training?

The Dream Dog Training program is designed to make sure older dogs stay obedient and responsive even after the training ends. This program offers one full training day per week over four to six weeks where dogs practice amidst real-life distractions like visits to parks and interacting with other dogs. The training focuses on using the Sit Means Sit Collar, which gives a gentle tap to get the dog's attention without hurting them. The program follows a three-phase process. First is the teaching phase, where dogs learn commands during the initial 6–12 weeks. Next is the reinforcement phase, where dogs gradually stop needing the collar. Lastly, there's the maintenance phase, where good behaviors are sustained. This practical approach helps dogs learn to behave well even without constant supervision, ensuring they listen and respond in any situation.

I will never forget the feeling I had walking into our consultation. Toji, our Belgian Malinois / Pitbull/ Cane Corso mix is an anxious fella. His anxiety led him to bite someone and honestly we were afraid of what that meant. Walking into our meeting Toji was trembling and growling at everything and everyone. Neil took us immediately and showed us complete and utter compassion. Within 5 mins of talking Toji was at work with Neil and the team. It was INCREDIBLE to see how the proper knowledge and tools make a WORLD of a difference. We went on to have 6 sessions, that of which the entire team worked with Toji. We can confidently say Chris is easily one of Toji’s favorite people in his world (he also has a crush on Lexi, sorry Chris). Each session prepped not just Toji but us on how to deal with his anxiety and provide him a safe space in the most uncertain situations. Again, Toji worked with the entire team which is amazing as he is/ was people reactive. Liam was awesome to work with as well, his patience and explanation truly helped us digest the material. Literally EVERYONE is sooo welcoming, kind, compassionate and care so deeply about our furry companions. I cannot thank SMS enough. You guys have changed our lives. Our world was upside down when we’d come to you and we will forever be grateful for all the ways you’ve helped keep our family together. Thank you now, thank you always and we’ll see you at group!! :)

Milo is my lovable 90-pound Golden Retriever/Rottweiler rescue -- big, strong and attention-seeking. When I realized that I didn't have all of the tools necessary to manage him, I searched training programs near me. I contacted Sit Means Sit, and from the initial phone evaluation followed by in-person meeting with Alexa, I knew that I made the right decision. We started 1:1 classes, graduated from the "Dream Dog Academy" and continue with ongoing group classes and events -- this experience has been life-changing for both me and Milo. The team at Sit Means Sit is exceptional -- professional, skilled, approachable and personable. Milo and I have felt their genuine care for both the owners and their dogs, always wanting everyone to succeed. Training is tailored to each dog's needs and temperament as well as the owner's personality. Chris, Lexi, Iris, Liam, Neil and Jamie are patient, encouraging, positive and supportive every step of the way. I am more confident as a dog owner -- and as a person. Milo is happier, more relaxed and understands that I'm in charge, all while maintaining his gentle, loving and social demeanor. If you are willing to put in the work, this team will stand by you and your dog. I'm so grateful that I chose Sit Means Sit. Highly recommend!
