Sit Means Sit Dog Training North Idaho

I can’t recommend Sit Means Sit North Idaho enough, especially Blake. Before training, Toby was a typical young Labrador with endless energy, selective hearing, and the attention span you’d expect from a puppy. He wasn’t a “bad” dog by any means, but I knew he had so much potential if I could communicate with him the right way. The transformation after the board-and-train program was incredible. The biggest thing I noticed wasn’t just that Toby knew commands it was that he actually understood what was expected of him. Blake took the time to train Toby, but just as importantly, he taught me how to maintain that training. The follow-up sessions made everything simple to understand, and I never felt like I was left on my own after bringing Toby home. Today, Toby can confidently heel, sit, down, place, come when called, and remain under control even with distractions around him. He’s become a dog I can genuinely enjoy taking everywhere because I know he’ll listen. Training him has become part of our daily routine instead of feeling like a chore. What impressed me most about Blake was how much he genuinely cared about Toby’s success. He answered every question, explained the “why” behind everything we were doing, and never made me feel rushed. It’s obvious he wants owners to succeed long after the training is over. If you’re debating whether a board-and-train program is worth the investment, my advice is simple: do it. The results speak for themselves, and the support afterward makes it easy to keep progressing. Toby is a completely different dog today, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience.

We looked at every dog trainer in Kootenai county / Spokane before committing to anyone, and after meeting Blake, Cheyenne, and Juan at Sit Means Sit, it was a no-brainer. These were clearly our people! We brought our small Munsterlander puppy, Barrett, here in February when he was just over three months old. We had no idea what to expect, but Blake spent over an hour with us that first day, getting to know us and Barrett and digging into what we wanted out of training. He was extremely thorough, patient, easy to talk to, and you could tell right away that he deeply cared. We started with three basic puppy sessions, then three 1:1 sessions and a full day-camp where Barrett stayed for eight+ hours. When we took him home that evening after camp, our jaws hit the floor. He was calmer and more focused than we'd ever seen him, and you could see how much heart they'd poured into him. Shortly after he graduated into group class, and we haven't missed a week since. We've also had many more 1:1 sessions with them along the way, and they've even met us at our house and other spots around town wherever Barrett needed specific work. Barrett's eight months old now and a completely different dog. He's a high-energy birddog and a pointer, so anything that flew used to set him off instantly (especially killdeer!). The team worked with us so patiently and his reactivity is now under control. We can walk him literally anywhere, all over town, into stores and shops, loose leash and sometimes fully off leash, and he stays right at our side, at full attention the whole time. His long distance recalls are the part that still gets us. He can now be running a field off leash and snap back into heel on a single command. Honestly, we've probably learned more than our dog has haha. Beyond the skills and habits, they've taught us how to "train as we live" with him, building it into everyday life instead of treating it as a separate thing. And over the last four months we've watched SO many other dogs in group class transform from reactive, aggressive, and/or nervous to calm, focused, and in control with their owners. Literally any dog can do well in this program, no matter what their backstory is. The crew at Sit Means Sit has genuinely changed our lives. If you're on the fence about training your dog, go have that first conversation with them. Hands down the best decision we've made, and can't recommend them enough. ❤️🐾
