Sit Means Sit Dog Training Long Beach

Our dog Lucy (4yo pit mix) is extremely fearful and reactive. We brought her to Lisa Marie after a bite incident with a neighbor when we were at the end of our rope.Lucy is a rescue with a traumatic past and she is afraid of everything (strangers, loud noises, things with wheels, the dark, her brush, people carrying things, even birthday candles!). This causes her to react aggressively to try to protect herself. Because of her breed, many people aren’t willing to see the good in our girl or give her the benefit of the doubt. They don’t see her silly faces, the kisses she showers on the people she loves, her perfect comedic timing, or the way she fishes my socks out of the laundry to snuggle them when she misses me. She’s a good girl. She’s just complicated. At our first meeting, Lucy was unhinged, barking and growling and lunging with every move Lisa made. After about an hour with her in her own home, Lisa was able to take Lucy’s muzzle off and work with her safely. So far we’ve had one full day training and 3 1 hour lessons and Lucy is thriving. She’s not as fearful, goes calmly into her crate, has learned “quiet” and “place” and is making really good progress with loose leash walking. We still have a long way to go, but I feel better knowing that my puppy girl has a chance to live a life with less fear while keeping our community safe as well. Lisa has done great work with my baby and we are so grateful.

Lisa-Marie has worked wonders for our high-energy Vizsla puppy, Klaus! She trained him fully in one 8 hour day, and he’s a completely different dog now. We could never take him out in public because he would try to jump on everyone. Especially at restaurants. Now, he stays in place until we tell him to move. Every. Single. Time. It’s truly miraculous. We love working with Lisa-Marie. She’s a kind but stern trainer and is very passionate about training your dog to succeed and meet your unique needs. ❤️
