My trainer here was awesome. I have no issue with her. She was wonderful to me and my dog. However, I lost my job in November. Prior to that, I had been making regular payments to Sit Means Sit. When I lost my job, I spoke to Schuyla and explained the situation. I was told my late fee was waived. I continued E-mail communication with Schuyla despite having no job because I only had $100 left to pay and I wanted to keep her up-to-date and let her know that I would make a payment as soon as I could. Despite having no income, not enough money to pay my bills, etc, I used some money I got in December to make a partial payment on the balance in December. I assumed that this would take the balance down. I get an email today from Schuyla (it's almost the end of January at this point) saying that she wants to know when I can make another payment, and that the balance is still $100. This confused me, because I made a payment in December. Schuyla tells me I got a late fee (which she so ~graciously waved when I lost my job in November). Her explanation is that it's in my contract. Mind you, I signed this contract back in March, and haven't taken my dog for any of their services in months. That said, Schuyla's explanation is that I will be assessed a late fee for every payment that is late, as per my contract. Did I yell at her? I sure did. Because even when she took money from me in December, it was not mentioned that a late fee had been added. I guess I'm supposed to just remember everything in this contract that I signed ten months ago and haven't looked at since. Perhaps that's my fault. I repeatedly pointed out to Schuyla that the balance would never be able to be paid if this late fee kept being added, and why this was an issue since I have been open and honest about the fact that I have no job. She kept returning back to this contract. Since I have no job and I'm disabled, I got a disability payment last month. It wasn't even enough to cover my bills, but I still gave Sit Means Sit some of this money. Assuming the government shut-down doesn't affect anything, the plan had been to pay more of it in February and hopefully knock it down a bit more. However, with the current state of things, that's not guaranteed, and Sit Means Sit doesn't care about this. I recognize that I still owe them money and that I signed a contract. However, I've also been open and honest this whole time about losing my job, etc, and have made a payment since then despite my lack of funds. Sit Means Sit is using the situation and the contract to say that they can continue to up the balance, and with my current financial situation, and in spite of my being open and honest with them, this means that the balance will likely go up well beyond what I owed them. I'll never be able to pay it. Schuyla kept talking about my contract, and how if I don't make one payment a month, I can be charged. I find it shady that this wasn't mentioned again when she took my money in December, and if that WERE the case, why it couldn't have been mentioned earlier than JANUARY 23. That said, as much as I did think my trainer was a nice person, I'd recommend against using these people. God forbid you lose your job or something happens, they will pretend that they are willing to work with you while hiding behind this "contract" to have an excuse to up the balance on you while you're down. Except it will only be mentioned when you have a problem, and Schuyla waited until after I was assessed a late fee, which made my balance the same as it had been before making my payment in December, to mention this, because I was supposed to remember. How many of you know exactly what the terms of service on your Google account says? Do you remember every word? Didn't think so. Sit Means Sit is Shady. They don't really work with you. It's just more money in their pocket. The fee is supposed to cover my dog returning the rest of his life, but I've already not used the facility in months, and Sit Means Sit couldn't pay me to return.

They have done an amazing job with our dogs. Our dogs have always been good but now we can involve them in our everyday life. We are still learning everyday as well as the dogs. Group classes are a plus as they help you and your dog able to practice with distractions and get help from a trainer if needed while there. If you have any trouble or questions all you have to do is give them a call, send them a message / email, or stop by and they will be more than happy to help you and your dog. Great Owners and a great group of trainers. You will not be disappointed and is well worth every penny. I highly recommend you give them a call or stop by to schedule a free consolation. - Dakota

Let me first begin with, as soon as you arrive to the facility, your first point of contact is with their on-site “consultant”. However, this title is nothing more than a ploy. This individual has very little to do with the actual growth of your family member. By family member, I mean dog. His sole purpose is to generate sales. Sure, he might have some other attributes that some might find appealing; though, don’t be fooled by the well scripted sales pitch. When it comes to questions/concerns, from top to bottom—in regard to the chain of command—neither are welcome. Furthermore, it’s almost as if they believe their training methods are the only effective means to achieving a well-trained dog. This isn’t the case. It might work, but by no way does that predicate that you shouldn’t do your due diligence while vetting these trainers. It’s almost as if their sales tactics are reflective of their training. Don’t get me wrong, as a company, you should believe in your product/service. Even still, objectivity is a necessity. First and foremost, you must listen to the client. From that point on, you can formulate what’s you think the owner and the dog may or may not want/need. Here’s a quote from the owner explaining their methodology for declining potential clients, “If during the consultation we get a lot of objections while covering our proven training process to the individual that is inquiring about our services it is [an] obvious red flag.” By “objection,” he means questions. In other words, if you don’t get on board, you’re off board. Another question we asked was, “When do you suggest that our puppy begins his training?” As you might guess, the consultant was adamant that he began immediately. This also came with opposition when we informed him that we had only had him for a week at this point in time and we would like to wait a little bit longer to get a better understanding of his temperament and needs. To be exact, we let him know that we would be in contact with them once he was twelve weeks. At that particular point in time, we would have been getting back in contact with them in roughly three weeks. Before it had even been a week from the day of our consultation, in the same email that was quoted above, he ended with this, “The reason for this email is so that in the future when things are to be more difficult and you decided to call us, I do not want you to find out that we cannot offer services for you then.”
