Sit Means Sit Dog Training Fort Collins

Our almost one year old German Shepard pup, Nymeria, spent 3 weeks at SMS for her trainings. Initially she was a typical pup with high energy and few manners, I couldn’t walk her because of her forceful antics ..I was afraid that I would be pulled over, fall and hurt myself. She is a big girl and needs exercise and so I enrolled her in classes and what a difference they have made!!! She listens, responds, walks like a princess and more importantly pays attention to her commands. As a 72 yr old with a 90 lb dog, I can walk her with confidence and it’s made a world of difference in her attitude! She is still the same silly, playful pup but when we are ‘working’ together she knows what is expected of her. Yes, she needs repeated reinforcement for now but that is to be expected, and I know as she matures she will only get better! Thank you to the team at SMS in Ft Collins and our trainer, Sarah, for working with us. It was worth all the time and cost!! I highly recommend this facility.

Teddy, our six month old Goldendoole, just completed the ten day board and train program at Sit Means Sit in Fort Collins. Teddy is on track to become a ADA compliant service dog, a replacement for the sevice dog that helped my wife for over twelve years, also a Goldendoodle. I was a bit apprehensive about starting serious training at such a young age, Teddy being a typical, "wild" pup, but we went ahead, met with Sarah, the head trainer and signed up. Sarah explained the program in detail and answered all our questions. She did a wonderful job of taking Teddy through his five days of basic training and we were impressed at the progress Teddy was making. Matt and Adam took over Teddy's training for the remaining five days. (I believe Sarah was away getting advanced training herself). When we came to pick up Teddy at the end of his ten day program Matt and Adam spent an hour showing us what Teddy had learned and instructed us in the commands he had been taught. Teddy now does not jump on visitors, walks on a loose leash, walks behind or next to my wife's wheel chair, is calm around people and other dogs. I never thought there would be this much progress in such a short period of time....and with Teddy being so young. The 10 day board and train program provides for monthly review sessions with the trainers for the coming year. We were very pleased with our experience with Sit Means Sit and look forward to working with them in the future as Teddy continues his training.
