Sit Means Sit Dog Training Detroit

I started with Sit Means Sit when my pup was 12 weeks old, enrolled in the AKC STAR Puppy program. My dog, Sadie (Goldendoodle), really enjoyed the weekly classes, the basic foundation, and the socialization. We enjoyed the classes so much that I decided I wanted to continue the training with SMS. Anyone and everyone, from the trainers to the office staff, answered every single question I had with patience, knowledge, and experience until I felt comfortable moving forward. I decided on the Day Train Program because I wanted to be more involved with the training. And I say that because I wanted to make sure I was getting trained to be the best handler I could be for my dog. What is important to mention, is that this organization, SMS Detroit, has not only the best staff of trainers and office personnel, they are the best humans. When you train with them, you become part of a family. They continue to provide training with group classes, they return phone calls when you have questions, they know every dog that goes through their training and they remember them. When you train with SMS, you also have an opportunity to board your dog with them. I had a family emergency and had no idea what I was going to do with Sadie. I called and explained the situation, and without hesitation, they said they could take care of her for me. I gave them no advance notice. They did not have to do that for me and for that, I will never forget the kindness and support they provided. I highly recommend SMS for any of your training needs. I am grateful that Sadie and I are continuing to grow with SMS to have the best life together!

Sit means sit has been such a blessing to our family. Javi, our curious and friendly loving yellow lab has an abundance of energy to say mildly. When we first came to sit means sit we struggled just to get into group class. But Nick said to stick with it and you will get there. He reminded us to celebrate the small successes. Javi loves the trainers there and gets excited when he sees his yellow bandana (he wears it for his zest for life not for aggression) because he knows he’s going to “school”. I can honestly say I learn something new at every class. It’s amazing to see how far we have come since day one. I can remember my first couple group classes, seeing owners walk around the room while their dog held their place and thinking oh my will we ever get there. I can’t recommend this place enough! I believe most of the training was training my husband and I to have clear and concise communication with Javi! We say thank you to everyone at sit means sit!

Sit means sit is an amazing program. Our last Irish setter /Grady was a changed boy. This was the third obedience program I attended with him. Now I have a new setter puppy who has already attended puppy class and now graduated to regular group class, the change in her is also amazing!!We look forward to growing old with Sit means sit😊 We’re now almost 9 months into group class and Sedona is doing amazing ! I am so proud of her, last week was a silent class using only hand signals for commands, I ve never even tried to us hand signals, she was a champ understood most every command! She even remember them the next day at home !! Thank you sit means sit 🥰 New photo Sedona even listens to our 1 1/2 year old grandson ❤️

I can't say enough good things about Sit Means Sit! I took an 8 year old rescue dog there first and they helped to manage his behaviors until the end of his life. I have now had my puppy complete the puppy class and has since been in group class. Through this training, I feel very connected to my dog and he is a well-trained pup. The trainers are so helpful and available for any questions. Highly recommend! Update: I currently have 2 dogs in class and they have been so helpful with teaching me to dual handle and helping to maintain both dogs training without losing anything with the other. Love it here!

Sit Means Sit has taught us to be able to take our Spec to places & enjoy. Spec was a reactive boy. And, at times, could show his dark side. But, with our training at Sit Means Sit we have learned to react before Spec does. We actually receive compliments on how well behaved Spec is in public. As a reference, when we first started if Nick took Spec’s lead; he’d get up on his hind paws & look Nick straight in the eye growling fiercely. Now, Spec accepts Nick & will allow Nick to interact with him. Nice! I’m Deaf. Nick & the staff have gone out of their way to make accommodations for us so we can participate in class as others do. We started with an interpreter and now we can participate in class without as Nick, while teaching, attends to my communication needs. Thanks so much…. We are so appreciative!
