Sit Means Sit Dog Training Chicago

I just saw one of your "trainers" walking what looked like a husky/husky mix down a city street off leash and was appalled. I don't care how well trained and good your dog is, walking it off leash in the middle of a highly populated, urban community shows a high degree of arrogance, irresponsibility, and a complete lack of concern, and empathy for those who live in the community, canine and human. I have a friend who was mauled by a dog as a child. If she had been with me, especially if she'd had her kids with her, she'd have had a full blown panic attack. Walking a dog off leash in a populated environment doesn't show how great you are as a trainer. It shows how little you know about dog behavior, and how little you actually care about the safety and well being of the dog, or of any other living creature. I would NEVER trust a dog with you, ever.

I just have to say that RJ, Mike, and the Sit-Means-Sit method are absolutely amazing!!!! My dog Brody was an extremely aggressive dog. I couldn't even take him for a walk without him lunging and growling at other dogs. Honestly, without his help, this dog would easily have had to be put down. I couldn't even find a boarding facility that would keep him while I was away. RJ and his crew assisted us with Brody’s behaviors and have assisted in transforming him into an obedient dog. The collar is similar to the ones that are used with the invisible fences. They give the dog a slight “zap” when you need to correct their behavior. The “place” command will work on any surface that you want your dog to stay on. I use it on benches, platforms, stairs, etc. You have to work with your dog in order for the method to be effective. I have left Brody at the facility multiple times and he comes home in perfectly good condition. He has been in group classes with other dogs at the facility as well, which is a miracle in itself. In addition, I have had one-on-one training so that I can learn how to use the method. I have had the best experiences with RJ and Sit Means Sit. I trust him and his staff and will use him for all of my future needs. Thank you RJ, Mike, and Sit-Means-Sit!!!!!!

Buddy is my fourth Airedale. Probably not the best choice of breeds at my age, but I felt I should go with the "devil I knew." We were doing fairly well until surgery put me out of commission for a bit and our routine was totally disrupted. Once I was literally back on my feet it seemed as if the fairly well behaved dog I had before had disappeared. I got to the point where I seriously considered having to give him up. That's when a friend suggested I look into Sit Means Sit. Trenton met with me and Buddy and explained in detail how the program worked. Although at the time I thought, "well this isn't cheap"...I also didn't want to give up on my two year old Buddy and the investment in time and money I had already made. It's a year later and I am thrilled to say "my old Buddy is back," thanks to Trenton and Alexa and everyone at Sit Means Sit. They trained with him for a week - 24/7. Once he was home again, they came and showed me how to work with him and use the electronic collar. Now I take him as often as I can to the two or three one-hour training classes they hold every week throughout the year. Buddy passed his AKC Canine Good Citizenship Test in February and in May he passed the test to become a Certified Reading Assistance Dog, which means he goes into schools and 1st, 2nd and 3rd graders read their books and stories to him. I doubt any of this would have been possible without Sit Means Sit. Actually what I thought at first was expensive, in retrospect was not that expensive at all as the dog classes I go to now are free, and twice when I was having specific behavioral issues with Buddy, Trenton and Alexa each came to my home to help me address them, at no extra charge. Sit Means Sit showed me how to get and keep Buddy under control. Make no mistake, this isn't magic. The owner still has to work with their dog and the equipment, and the more you work at it the better the results. It seemed to me, however, that Buddy got to where he is today faster than he might have gotten with the more traditional methods of dog training. RJ has made a world of difference with our dogs, Lucy and Charlie. In just two/ three months we noticed a remarkable difference in their behaviors. They have both become much better mannered dogs. Friends who come over notice what better listeners our pups have become!
