Our Day Train program is designed to build a foundation of skills during the training days and then transition those skills to the owner through the scheduled follow-up sessions. These follow-ups are conducted as small group training classes where owners work with their dogs on real-world challenges while being coached hands-on by a certified trainer. Many owners find their greatest success during these sessions as they learn how to apply the training consistently themselves. According to our records, the follow-up sessions included in your program were not attended, so our team unfortunately did not have the opportunity to continue coaching you and your dog through that important part of the process. Regarding the leash technique you mentioned, our trainers demonstrate safe long-line handling methods that are commonly used in professional dog training to interrupt behaviors such as chasing while keeping the dog safe and under control. These techniques are demonstrated carefully and adjusted based on the dog’s size, temperament, and energy level. We stand behind our training and our commitment to helping dogs and owners succeed together. If you would like to return and complete the remaining sessions included in your program, we would be happy to work with you and continue helping you and Perro move forward. Suzanne, thank you so much for the thoughtful review! We’re really proud of the progress Dakota has made, and Heather has loved working with both of you throughout the program. Dakota worked hard on building her attention, improving her recall, and learning to stay calm around distractions like doors, doorbells, and other dogs. It was great to see her gain confidence each week and successfully complete all of her graduation skills—even working on a long leash and around other dogs in group settings. You’ve also done a great job learning how to communicate with Dakota and reinforcing the training at home.
