Sit means sit is the best! The trainers really care and take such great care of my dog. The training method works so well! Our dog is not food motivated at all. The e-collar is like tapping our dog to get her attention. She responds very well to the “taps”. They also send the cutest update pictures! Our dog is very expressive with her emotions and smiles every time she’s there!

Questions & answers
From GoogleWhat people have asked about this business.
Do you do in home training?
While all the training we provide is meant to be applicable in your home or any other environment, the majority of our training appointments take place at one of our two training facilities in Austin.

Do you have any breed restrictions?
Nope! We love all dogs and are happy to work with pups of any breed, age, or temperament.

Do you offer Board & Train options?
After offering Board & Train programs for many years, we discontinued those programs in lieu of more owner-involved options. We found that dogs and their humans saw greater long-term success when they trained together, rather than having the dog train on their own and making the owner play catch-up. Our Day Camp program is an excellent alternative to a Board & Train because while our trainers still get plenty of time to work with your pup, you get your dog back at the end of each day and can begin implementing your dog's new training in your home right from the start. This will help to avoid confusion for your dog and allow you an amazing bonding experience of learning together alongside your pup.

How old does my dog have to be to begin training?
We offer puppy training for dogs ages 8 weeks to 20 weeks, and more advanced training options for any dogs older than 5 months.

What will my dog learn during training?
We will teach all dogs we work with an array of foundational skills such as following commands, leash walking, and energy management, but really our training is customized around your specific goals. We can help with anything from puppy training, through basic obedience, and up to helping manage high levels of aggression or reactivity.

What guarantees do you offer regarding my dog being trained?
A guarantee of completion or success is impossible to provide when we are talking about living, thinking creatures. Your dog is not a robot, they have their own unique personality along with a life full of their own, personal experiences, as do you - their human! With that being said, what we can guarantee is that we will provide you with the tools, education, and support needed to ensure your dog can be successful in training. How long it takes will depend on several factors such as how consistent you are, what type of program you sign up for, etc, but we also promise to be there every step of the way with guidance and confidence that you'll be happy with your progress and results!

What is the consultation and do I have to schedule one?
The consultation is a free appointment to meet with one of our trainers and learn about what we have to offer. While not strictly necessary in most cases, it is highly recommended to schedule one so we can explain the details of how our training will work for your pup. It will also give you an opportunity to see our facility, learn about our Sit Means Sit training philosophy, and work with a trainer to put together a program designed around your specific goals. We want to make sure we're the perfect fit for your dog before you commit to anything.

What is the sit means sit e-collar?
The Sit Means Sit collar is a micro stim modality that is very similar to the micro stim units used in the medical and athletic fields. These micro stim units essentially use low-level, adjustable electronic stimulation to create a muscle contraction. In the medical field, they are used as aids to help alleviate pain, promote blood circulation and induce healing. For our SMS collar, an adjustable micro stim signal is manually sent from a remote, which translates into a “tap” delivered to the Sit Means Sit Collar. This tap starts at such a low level that it is often imperceptive to people. This signal from the Sit Means Sit collar is also adjustable in the same way that your voice is, and is completely controlled by you, the handler.

What type of training methods do you use?
The unique Sit Means Sit training model uses Attention-Based Training to modify behaviors and teach dogs new skills and proper manners. This approach to training allows our Sit Means Sit Austin trainers to use a variety of attention-based modalities such as leashes, flat collars, food, toys, and our patented Sit Means Sit Collar.

How much y'all charge
Our training programs vary considerably from dog to dog and depending on your training goals and your lifestyle. They vary both in the structure and layout of our programs, as well as in the cost and duration of the training. Each of our training programs is custom-tailored to your specific needs. To build you the right training package, we evaluate factors such as your dog’s age, temperament, previous training, your lifestyle, as well as your desired goals. What will work for one dog and owner won’t necessarily fit well with another. Because of these factors, we offer a free consultation as an opportunity to meet with your family and your dog to gain insight into the unique circumstances that affect your dog’s training.

I would suggest going to their website or call them directly. Prices varies depending on the training you want.. also i would highly recommend this place
Community answer · LocalLens · 2018-09-21
It varies depending on the service, you can do board and trains, day trains, private sessions, or package deals for a year at a time with unlimited weekly and biweekly group sessions in that year. Been taking my pup for a few months, worth the money.

Sage has been doing SO well since starting training here! I’ve noticed such a big difference, especially with her heeling and how well she responds to commands now. Walks are so much easier and I feel like we understand each other a lot better. Everyone we’ve worked with has been patient, helpful, and great about not only training Sage, but teaching me what I need to be doing with her at home too. She’s made so much progress already and I’m really excited to keep working with her. So happy we decided to bring her here!

Sit Means Sit has been amazing!! Taz, Jared, and Ashley are all wonderful with my Bernese Mountain Dog puppy! Lottie is doing obedience training to be a therapy dog at Dell Children’s and I can already tell the difference in her impulse control and maturity! They extended hours so I could have her in enrichment days the long shifts I work at the hospital and they are always willing to work with my schedule! I appreciate them so much and I can tell they really care for Lottie!! Taz has been the best trainer ever for her!!
Jared and Taz have been so patient and are great teachers. Group classes are fun and engaging not only for the dogs but the owners as well!
Jarod and Taz are wonderful trainers and have been an enormous help with our little dog Roux. Roux has been pulling less on the leash when we walk and is more receptive to commands and staying in place. The trainers go above and beyond to ensure your dog gets the tailored care needed to help them excel in their training. Would recommend.
