I am told this place trains with shock collar on all its dogs, even before the dog learns commands. Is this true?
Hi, I was a little concerned on how Someone can use a “shock collar” for positive reinforcement ?
Community answer · John Reeves (BackyardSkate) · 2021-09-21
Hey Jennylee, my name is Anthony and I own our Denver location. Call it what you like but the modern tech and modern, attention-based approach is very different than a past mindset of “shock collar” or training. More trainers and people are exploring and using collars now than ever because of the advancement and evolution. You’re welcome to visit with us personally for free and educate and then judge for yourself what makes sense. We’ve been at it for 20 years, so the system, technique and results are really well documented.
I appreciate your attention, feel free to reach out.

They don't call it a shock collar since they use it for "positive reinforcement", but yes. It's definitely a shock collar. They will also recommend your dog to wear it at all times.

We train any dog, any age, any problem! We'll start puppies as early as 8-10 weeks and grow them for life; we've had 12 year old dogs come for training too! And we purposely located outside of Denver so we don't have breed restrictions.

It depends on the dog and specific needs! They will give you a free consultation where they meet you and the dog! My dog did one week boarding. Total was $1850.
Community answer · Britni Luna · 2019-09-21
Hey Stephanie,
Just like Britni said below, we meet for free to assess your dog and needs, then give you options. I noticed you contacted us directly and may be up in the foothills, so several factors may come into play for you like timing, travel, schedule and of course budget. Please call us to chat and we'll see if it makes sense to get together. 303-422-3647.

ps. that boarding listed here is an unlimited lifetime follow up!!
Community answer · Sit Means Sit Denver Dog Training · 2019-09-21
Laura, I'm presuming you have our Sit Means Sit collar which also has a lifetime warranty! So, if the controller is not functioning, the manufacturer will repair or replace. If you've lost it call our office and we can coordinate getting you a new one. Numbers are listed in Google profile.

I have a very “spirited” and easily excitable 16 -month old labradoodle; motorcycles, bicycles, scooters, other dogs, joggers, anything that moves - he’d go after them and take me with him. It was impossible to calm him down and get him to focus. I feared he’d hurt himself or someone else. The transformation in my pup’s behavior (and mine) is amazing after the training we received from Anthony, Ed and Debbie at Sit-Means-Sit. We’re still a work in process but I’m more confident working with my sweet boy with the tips and instruction I received. I recommend them wholeheartedly!

We cannot say enough good things about Sit Means Sit in Wheat Ridge, Colorado! They trained our 2-year-old Goldendoodle, and the results have been incredible.
The programs are both effective and affordable, and the staff is kind, patient, professional, and extremely knowledgeable. After just one full day of training and a private lesson, we were amazed at how much our dog had learned. The transformation was truly impressive.
What has stood out most is the ongoing support we've received. Whenever we've had questions or concerns, the team has been responsive, helpful, and encouraging. It’s clear that they genuinely care about both the dogs and their owners.
One of the biggest signs that we made the right choice was seeing how excited our Goldendoodle was to go to the facility and see the trainers. Knowing that he loved being there gave us complete confidence in the training process.
If you're looking for a training program that delivers real results while treating your dog with care and respect, we highly recommend Sit Means Sit in Wheat Ridge!

I recently had my second dog trained by the team here at Sit Means Sit and 8 couldn’t be happier. Cosmo needed some direction to feel more confident at home, and they delivered. He attended a 4 night board and train. He’s now great on walks, good with company, and we’re all just more relaxed. My dog Aster attended the same training 4 years ago and he’s been perfect ever since. Most importantly i got training too which is probably the part that was needed most 🙃. I 💯 recommend Anthony and his team at Sit Means Sit.

I have a big strong rescue pity who is absolutely my heart and soul. I was devastated before I found this place because I thought I would have to give him up. He was impossible.
Anthony and his team have worked wonders with my dog and Me, to say they have made a powerful and positive impact on my life, and the life of my family would be a huge understatement.
I could not recommend this place more.
