Sit Means Sit Bakersfield is great! Yes, they use e-collars but the trainers JD and Kolby stress using the LOWEST setting that gets your dog's attention. I choose the private lesson package. This way I could learn the lessons along with my dog. We also practiced during the week between lessons. Each lesson built on the lesson before and the trainer helped to keep us from falling into bad habits or incorrect use of the collar. I love the Tune-up sessions they offer every week. These are included in the price of the training package for a year. It's a great way for the dogs to properly socialize with other dogs. It's also a good way to sharpen our skills. Today's session had 25 dogs and owners there. Jd and Kolby are there to answer questions or help with issues that may creep up too as time goes on. I highly recommend Sit Means Sit Bakersfield

We have a puppy named Gus. He is a rescue, so we don’t know much about what happened before we got him. We decided on obedience training because he was very anxious, as well as aggressive to people and other dogs. He had 9 lessons with Kolby, and two additional lessons, with Kolby and JD. Both Kolby and JD are so knowledgeable and tailor the lessons to the individual dog. Today was my first group lesson with Gus, but his second. I was so impressed with what Kolby did. He really knew the dogs well, so he was able to anticipate and adjust what he was doing based on the dogs’ behavior right then. He also helped individuals as needed and answered questions. Gus is fairly new in his training, but we see so much improvement! Sit Means Sit is not one size fits all. They are also reasonably priced, considering that they will continue to help your dog as long as it is needed. I highly recommend them.

They made it fun for our dog and for us! We quickly realized we had more to learn than our dog….and the trainers were patient with us too. Kolby and JD both are fabulous with their knowledge of how to succeed with a dog! The skills Kolby was able to provide Shasta and Kiwi, along with myself and my husband are priceless! I now have full confidence in not only my dog but myself to go into any situation and know I will have a well mannered dog!
