Sit Means Sit

To be honest I was little skeptical of this place at first not because of there training abilities but because my border collie is tad bit crazy lol I had been training him since he was 8 weeks old and while I managed to teach his several tricks he was horrible at the basics like walking, coming, chasing cars ect.and I wasn't sure he even knew his name so I started research types of training and different training courses and ended up finding sit means sit which uses e collars for correction he was pretty bad and doesn't matter were you go training isn't cheap and I didn't think a rewards based program was gonna cut it because my dog isn't overly interested in treats or toys for that matter. So before I even put the collar on my dog I wanted to zap myself these collars are not like the old school ones I had to turn it most of the way up just to feel it very very mild.The program is structured in baby steps basically so first couple lessons u may be going over stuff ur dog already knows but there's a point it's just the foundation of a bigger picture everything comes together at the end it is a bit of a learning curve not just on ur dog this type of training is all about timing and that takes little getting used to.every single one of the trainers are super nice and no what there doing Steve the owner is next level very very talented guy and philosophical in his approach you can tell he loves working with dogs. After the initial training there's group that is several times a week for 6 months to life depending on what program you choose and group is great everyone is extremely nice u meet lots of new people new dogs it keeps ur dog socialized and kinda fine tunes the training your dog has already received it starts feeling more like a big family. My dog is far from perfect but he's 100%better then when he came in he knows the commands now it's just fine tuning from here training takes time patience and repetition and if you can give your dog that I'd highly recommend sit means sit as a great starting point

We were at a crossroads on whether or not we were going to be able to keep our Rottie pup due to his strength and not being trained during Covid. Sit Means Sit was our last hope. Steve is a great trainer with so much passion for his work. Loved his sense of humor! We have only done four sessions and our Jax is walking so much better, being a gentleman at the door and yesterday he was actually successful at meeting and greeting another dog. Prior to training, he would act nuts every time he saw another dog and even brought me to my knees. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Forever grateful that Jax is going to remain a permanent part of our family as he is so handsome and lovable and finally has some manners. Thank you, Steve, for a job well done. We will continue practicing and showing up for group class.
