Signature K9 Training Academy

I had initial reservations about this dog training company, but I must admit that they are extremely knowledgeable and skilled. In just a few weeks, we witnessed a remarkable transformation in our dog. They not only trained our dog effectively but also educated us about the crucial aspects of being responsible dog owners. They emphasized the significance of establishing boundaries and providing guidance to ensure our dog's success and well-being. I am sincerely grateful to them for their expertise and guidance.

Old dogs can learn new tricks! I thought our 9 yr old German Shorthair Pointer/Great Pyrenees mix was perfect, but when we adopted a stray Husky, it quickly became apparent that I had very little say over her behavior. Tinker had zero recall without an e-collar, left our property to go off galivanting for long periods of time and basically had me wrapped around her big paw regarding her enormous expectations for treats, meals, outside time and even bedtime. Over the course of 4 private sessions with Daniel, I learned how to communicate with Tinker more clearly, set boundaries and enforce obedience. My understanding of how dogs think and learn grew so much. I now have a dog who looks to me for guidance, respects my space and is obedient to commands in every situation. She goes off-leash on 13 acres and watches for me to say when she can gallop off. She stays within our property boundaries and comes willingly when called. I can put her in a ‘sit’ or ‘down’ in the middle of the pasture and she will stay while I repair a fence or walk over to the horses. I will say this, Tinker was my coddled baby and ran my life. I had to recognize and let go of anthropomorphism. Personally, it was difficult for me to stop treating Tinker like another person (sometimes a very annoying person)! I had to muster up the authority to enforce rules, use the correct body language and verbal commands to curb her clingy or disrespectful behaviors and basically learn a new way of communicating with her. This was a process and I had doubts, but Daniel was supportive, understanding and firm every step of the way. The cumulative benefits have exceeded my expectations and have helped me in building a new, more effective relationship with not only Tinker, but also with our adopted Husky, Nacho. For both my husband and I, it is a new and more harmonious way of life with our dogs. We can depend on them to be obedient, and they can depend on us to be clear, to reward fairly and to be leaders. As for Nacho, the stray Husky, he went to Daniel for a 3-week board and train. We love that both Daniel and Justin recognized and appreciated Nacho’s jubilant outlook on life and worked with him to instill obedience, manners, and respect without inhibiting his natural state of joy. Nacho is now a star citizen both in our home and off-leash with Tinker. He loves being a good boy. Actively participating in our dogs’ training was a process and required attention and commitment. I am so glad we did all the homework and followed all the instructions, which made it possible for our dogs to succeed and for us to all to have a more balanced life. I highly recommend Signature K9’s program. It is now four months later, and our dogs continue to understand the rules. And I know how to correct myself and/or them if things do go awry. I think I even know what to do with this new stray we just took in…but have already let Daniel know and am thankful he is still here for us.

I took both of my OEBs in for training. One was an 8 month old and the other was 5 years. Training was essential for the puppy, as I had little control and the adult was passive aggressive. I had confidence in Daniel and Justin and was confident my dogs could be successful. I had little confidence in myself. But as the dogs learned so did I. They are trained and cooperative and eager to please.Signature K9 is life changing for the humans and the dogs. Leslie Ettredge
