I’d give Felicia more than 5 stars for her work with Pepper if it was possible! She took our sweet, silly, and always crazy puppy for a 5 week board and train, and helped bring out the calm, well mannered dog we knew she could be! We love the confidence Pepper now has when we take her out on her leash and how quickly she responds to commands. We will never be able to thank Felicia enough for all her hard work. Felicia was super responsive to our questions and always communicated well for drop off and pick up, plus our pestering questions on the weekends while we were reinforcing training between board and train sessions. Pepper was always excited to see Felicia, which is another huge positive! Before taking Bailey to Shades of Blu, she was afraid of loud noises and large objects. So afraid that shopping carts and things like that terrified her. I had already been working with her to be my service dog, but the lack of confidence made it nearly impossible to keep her attention in public. She would stop relying on me to give her direction and would almost run and hide. Obviously, this would be a huge problem for a service dog. Even though Bailey is one of the smartest and most willing to learn pups I've ever met. Thanks to Felicia, Bailey is so much more confident in public. She's actually excited to go inside places with me, tail wagging and ears perked. She also responds to commands a lot faster than before. It's like she has a better understanding of her job at home and when we're in public. Even when she isn't looking at me, I can tell she's always listening for me. Felicia pinpointed and took on the parts of training that I was struggling with. Because of that, I'm personally more confident in my ability to get Bailey where she needs to be as my service dog. I know it'll be smooth sailing from here. There isn't much left to do, and if I struggle anymore, Felicia will still be there to support and work with Bailey and me. I am beyond excited to see the progress we make from here, because of the progress Felicia made in just five weeks! I could say so much more, but I'll leave you with this: take your pup to Felicia and know they are in wonderful hands!

I cannot recommend Felicia and Shades of Blu enough! Felicia worked with my dogs for a 6 week board and train and it has made SUCH a difference! Now I can take them on walks, runs, to breweries and coffee shops without being stressed about having to manage them or being embarrassed by their reactivity. If you’re considering balanced training for your dog, it is absolutely worth the investment. Pictures included of my girls being well behaved in public because this definitely didn’t happen before training.

Currently working with Felicia training my 1 year old mixed breed as my service dog. We just completed a 5 week B&T and will do another 5 week B&T to work on focusing in public and her task. I am very pleased at my babies progress so far, stellar difference. I just needed the help to start her foundation in training with my hectic life schedule. Felicia has been very accommodating, helpful and understanding when it comes to her clients schedules!

I would recommend Felicia and her training to anyone in need of dog training!! My pup entered her 5 week board and train program at 6 months old with a completely uncontrollable jumping problem, as well as just not being able to settle much at all. Felicia has taken her from a constant anxiety to be around to the most well mannered pup. We no longer have to worry about her jumping on my children, she is potty trained, and she has even begun service dog training. She knows how to stay calm, how to approach people, and is just a joy to be around. Felicia is incredibly professional and has been supportive in her work. She shows she truly cares about her clients and their pups. Photos and updates, check-ins, and just attention to detail and the dogs needs overall. Her training plans are curated to the needs of your dog, so you can rest assured that their needs will be met. You can see the love and respect their dogs she works with has for her as well! They light up as soon as they see her. I’m excited to continue to work with Felicia and see all the goals my pup can reach thanks to her!
