SF Puppy Prep

I had a great experience with my pup at SF Puppy Prep despite COVID limitations of direct interactions of the trainers. I enrolled my pup Charlie in their puppy school with the intention of only getting her socialized with other dogs, but got so much more. She was a shy gal that came out of her shell with the help of the trainers. I then followed up with a zoom course. Although skeptical that it wasn't in person and already doing my own training, the extra assistance, guidance, and recommendations that seemed slight, made a huge difference and made frustrating days better and put us on the right track faster. We started our puppy at S.F. Puppy Prep on June 25th. Fast-forward to Sunday, June 28th @ 2 a.m. our puppy is violently coughing & vomiting. We rushed her to the emergency veterinarians offie on Alabama St. She is diagnosed with Kennel Cough. After receiving fluid injections & cough syrup, we take her home. Later that day, we take her to our main veterinarians office, they start her on a 10 day supply of antibiotics. I am beyond disappointed with S.F. Puppy Prep, they never verified our dogs vaccinations, they explained to us that somehow we "fell through the cracks." They also acted like Kennel Cough isn't a big deal, maybe it's not a big deal for them, but for new dog owners rushing their dogs to the emergency veterinarians office in the middle night, it is a big deal. After speaking with S.F. puppy prep on Sunday the 28th, they apologized profusely, and explained that normally they verify vaccinations before a new puppy starts. I was appalled to learn that they don't inform dog owners if a puppy becomes ill. They prioritize profits over moral, and the health of puppies. Fast-forward to July 15th, I am crossing the street and notice a person stopped at a red light, with a puppy on their lap. I had chatted with her in line on the last day we took our dog to Puppy Prep. They pulled over, and they told me that their dog also got sick, with Kennel Cough, this puppy was also rushed to the emergency veterinarians office in the middle of the night, having to undergo x-rays, etc. The other dog owner was just as appalled as I was to find out what had happened to my dog, this is obviously not a coincidence. S.F. Puppy prep needs to prioritize the health & safety of the dogs they are taking in. I know this review won't be popular with them, they asked me to delete the original one star review I left a few weeks ago, I did.. In good conscience, I refuse to be be blindly complicit to suit their profits, this needs attention. People need to know what happened, and what could potentially happen.
