We had taken our cattle dog/chessie mix Riley to another trainer and she had success in some areas, but I quickly realized they weren’t taken into account her sensitivity and feelings, as well as not addressing the root of her reactivity. We took her to Julie this week and within the 2.5 hour consultation, we learned SO much about why she reacts the way she does and how she feels in different situations. Since then, we are confident that we can support Riley and work with her in a way that makes sense to her. She had already improved so much within the one session, and each day I work with her she is improving even more! Even more importantly, I feel excited to work with her each day and implement her new training because she is enjoying it and I don’t sense ANY anxiety from her about it. We were able to walk by another dog today with minimal reactivity and our walks are becoming such a positive experience. I HIGHLY recommend Julie and firmly believe what we learned from just that one session was worth every penny, and we plan to go back for more.

If I could give 10 stars I would. We had a 1 year old mini Australian Shepard who has gone through a tough experience and from that was a fear based aggressive dog. We’ve tried petco and bark busters, side note DO NOT go through bark busters, to no avail. We could not take our dogs on walks, have friends over, and had no idea what to do. We even considered putting him up for adoption because we thought we were unfit as owners. However, we wanted to give one last shot. We finally decided to go with Darcie and Julie and it was THE best decision. The minute we brought Romeo to their care they already had such great advice with even how he was placed next to us on the leash. They be both cared for our dog, but Darcie was our main behavioralist. We wanted to give our dog the best shot so we went with the board and train. After the boarding. Darcie helped us with our main concerns by going on walks with us, going through pet friendly stores, and even doing training at our own home which was at least 30 min away with good traffic, with our friends over to help with his training. I don’t usually leave reviews but if you’ve made it this far it’s because I have so much to say about them. Even during the passing of my father and I needed someone to watch our dogs, they were willing to help. And even 2 years after his training when we need some advice Darcie is happy to help and it feels like I’m just catching up with an old friend There aren’t many people that our dog lets in to his close circle but Darcie is one of them. It comforts me and my husband that someone cares and can see what a great dog he is. Just know if you go with sensitive dog, you will not be disappointed.

Within the first fifteen minutes of talking with Julie, I felt that my dog would be ok. We had recently moved to a different state and our sweet Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Beatrice, went from being full of sparkle and butt-wagging life to cowering in the closet most of the time. During the first spring of living in our new place, we experienced our first thunderstorm season, as well as our first Fourth of July in a place where fireworks are legal, abundant, and close. The combination of these powerful, frightening events happened in quick succession and were devastating to our girl. It was now September and the fourth month that Bea would rarely come out of her nest in the closet, often shaking uncontrollably. For me, her mom, it was like a death. Nothing that I tried worked and, as the clock ticked on, I despaired of ever getting her back. I made an appointment with Julie. Julie's presence, way of speaking, and manner put me immediately at ease. This was so important because my sadness and fear were heavily coloring the situation. The depth of Julie's experience and intuition inspired such confidence that I trusted her when she said that we could turn the situation around. After calming my own personal storm, Julie instructed me in techniques, activities, and supplements that would help Bea. I would never have predicted how rapidly Beatrice responded to the change in my approach. While there are still traces of underlying fear, my girl improves every single day. I am so grateful to Julie for working with us and guiding me in effecting the change that was needed to bring Beatrice back. I am full of awe and gratitude every day as I watch Bea live as she was born to live - full of curiosity, joy, fun affection, zest, and vigor. Thank you so much, Julie, from the bottom of my heart!

I feel incredible reassured and like I have such greater insight into my dog after working with Julie. Like I understand what the work is on such a deeper level. I deeply appreciate the level of knowledge, skill, respect and enthusiasm that Julie brings to this work. I cannot recommend Sensitive Dog enough!

Our pup Bruce worked with Darcie in the board and train program to address behaviors like jumping, fixation, fear of household noises, leash work and general matters. She went above and beyond to make sure we had the tools to ensure a stress-free environment for Bruce. She worked just as hard to teach us a whole new approach to training and our family dynamic. Plus Bruce had a blast. I would highly recommend Sensitive Dog training especially to families welcoming a baby to the family. Well worth the investment.
