Sadie's Rules K9 Training

When we brought our high-energy Golden Retriever puppy home, we wanted him to become a regular part of family activities. Sadie's Rules K9 Training has helped make this a reality. Challenge - Prior to training, we were struggling with Teething (read nipping and chewing on everything), Jumping, Whining in his crate, and a mild disregard for instruction. We were concerned that, if not dealt with, he would grow to be more of a nuisance than companion. Impact - After training, our boy no longer struggles with nipping and chewing. He responds well to commands such as Come, Sit, Break, Heal, Place, Down and - most importantly - No. He loves being involved with family walks, outings, etc. and is a joy to be around. We are so grateful to Jess and the team at Sadie's Rules for making a huge difference in our boy's life. 5 stars is not enough!

Absolutely wonderful program and trainers. We did the 10 day puppy program and just two days home so far and our pup is doing GREAT despite the many distractions she faces with two young kids and an active older dog who has not been through formal training. Not only are we better dog owners for it but we felt completely relaxed while away knowing she was well cared for. We will doing their 3 week E-collar training course in the future for sure!

6 Stars if we could give an extra! Jess and her team at Sadie’s K9 are AMAZING. They helped our anxious and sometimes aggressive pit mix to become the happiest and best-behaved pup in the neighborhood. We adopted a 7-month-old pit mix from a local shelter who had been returned by her previous owner because of a bite and struggles with resource guarding. But she was soooo cute, so “No problem!” we said. We assumed with a little structure and a lot of love she would work through her issues. Yeah, that clearly didn’t happen. At first our pup would growl and bare her teeth if we approached when she had a toy. Was a nightmare on walks (pulling, chewing the leash, jumping on us…anything but but going to the bathroom, she would wait until we got back in the house for that. And of course there ended up being a few “snapping” at us and a few bites. Each time, we explained it away as invading her space or approaching her in the wrong way. We found Jess after an exhaustive search. From the get-go the entire staff was amazing. Nikki spent an hour on the phone chatting with us about our training goals, our apprehensions (e-collars can sound scary when you don’t know anything about them), and of course our pup. Since we were dealing with aggressive behaviors on top of basic manners, our pup required the full 6-week board and train. It seemed like a long time, but with stellar communication, updates, and almost daily Instagram video clips the time away from her was a little more bearable. She’s been home 3 weeks now and OMG! She’s amazingly well-behaved and we have had only minor flashes of trying to revert to old behaviors (all was easily corrected). We can now walk her off leash and let her run around open spaces and she will respond to recalls without any trouble. She has a new lease on life and we have the amazing dog we hoped she would be when we adopted her. No more pee/poo clean-ups. No more biting. No more trying to steal food off the coffee table. Just a fun-loving dog who can be calm when asked. Jess has been a lifesaver and continues to be available for questions when they pop up.

We decided we were ready for a new four legged family member in October. My husband was extremely reluctant about going the new puppy route but I was able to convince him by promising that we could have help training him and I started to look into what resources were in our area. Sadie’s came up in my search. I then mentioned to our neighbor who was out walking her dog that we were going to get a new pup and she said if you need a great trainer you should speak with Sadie’s. We brought Poppy home in early October at 9 weeks old and in late November he went to Sadie’s 10 day puppy training program. We were really really impressed with how well the team at Sadie’s kept us up to speed on Poppy’s progress and importantly also worked to help us monitor a small health concern that Poppy had been dealing when we dropped him off. Nikki was incredible with all the emails and paperwork. Jess was terrific and even agreed to find space for Poppy in the regular training program over the Christmas holiday week to ensure Poppy had consistent training. McKayla was great when she walked us through our in-home session she took a lot of care and time to show us how to reinforce the training with Poppy. Poppy is now home from his full three week training session and we could not be more thrilled with all of the new things he learned and how calm and well adjusted he is. The team at Sadie’s is truly top-notch. We would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking to get their new furry family member off on the right foot or for people who are struggling to train a dog that has been in the family for a while.

The team at Sadie's Rules is amazing. They love their dogs and have turned our rather aggressive dog into a dog that we can comfortably walk around the neighborhood and beyond. They were fantastic in making sure we understood how to continue the lessons and have been very responsive to any questions or concerns we had and I love that there are opportunities to have our dog spend 'vacations' with them to re-affirm his training.
