Russell K9

We could not be happier with our experience with Russell K9. Butler is our 1 year old Chocolate Lab with a ton of energy and a big personality. We sent him for the Public 2 Week Board and Train because we wanted him to learn how to manage all that excitement without changing who he is. We got the exact same perfect boy back, just with lots of manners! The changes have made everyday life with him so much easier. Before training, Butler was very much living in his own world. Now he makes so much more eye contact, looks to us to see what’s next, and is ready to join us in whatever we have planned. He hated doing “down”before and would often refuse it, but now he will down when asked. He was also a terrible counter surfer, and that is rarely an issue now. He can be around our parents and friends without us constantly managing his excitement, easily off leash heel around our neighborhood, and join us at dog friendly stores and restaurants and act like a gentleman. We’ve even had someone ask us while we were out who trained him. We did a lot of research before choosing Russell K9. We wanted someone who used treats and positive reinforcement, but also trained appropriately with a collar so we had that tool and knew how to use it correctly. We also loved that they are a Christian based company. Cody was Butler’s primary trainer and our main point of contact, although both he and his brother worked with him. Cody was responsive, easy to talk to, and we felt comfortable trusting him with Butler from the beginning. Butler has had quite a bit medically for such a young dog, so we were particular about who we trusted to care for him for 2 weeks. Cody was incredibly accommodating with everything Butler needed, kept us updated throughout his stay, and Butler came home happy and healthy. We’ve even noticed improvements in things that weren’t specifically part of his training. His fetch is so much better now, which has been a fun surprise, and his recall and overall attention have carried over into so many little things. Cody has also been great about answering questions since Butler came home. We really appreciate the continued support and would absolutely recommend Russell K9.

I’m amazed by the abilities of Russell’s K9, my girl Cranberry was a wild woman to say the least. She’s a 6 month old border collie and 100% full of sass. Today my girl graduated from their 2 weeks board and train and I picked up a well mannered completely transformed girl. She is still sassy but now is controllable. Jockson was patient with both of us and I can’t recommend them enough. They really are worth every penny it spent.

My name is Steve Smith and I got a call a couple of months ago about a puppy that a couple had had for about a year and a half. They stated that the puppy was defective, aggressive, had bit someone, gad no hair, was allergic to everything and was on a special diet and there were no remedies in sight. I went and got the little dog. It did have some problems. All the hair was chewed off practically everywhere he could reach. The hair that was left was matted and looked like little dreadlocks. The little dog was on different meds. He was quite aggressive, attacked and bit my wife. He was fearful of everything. This little guy was a real mess and had problems. We took him off of the meds, put him on a regular diet of Orijen and Farmers Dog. His hair grew back and he became healthy but he was still very fearful and quite aggressive towards humans. We decided to make the drive from Arkansas all the way down to Wiggins, Mississippi, and take this little guy to Kody Russell and Jocksan Soria at Russel K 9. As breeders it is one of the best devisions we’ve ever made. After two weeks at Russel K 9 the transformation was unbelievable. The little dog, Cujo, now looks us in the eyes, he is responsive, obeys commands, he has a joyful pep in his step, plays, and obeys commands. Russel K 9 performed a miracle with Cujo. Cujo is loving, lovable , happy and is now an enjoyable dog. We love this little guy and he is now part of our family as such we want to thank Kody and Jocksan and absolutely recognize and recommend Russell K 9. Kody at Russell K9 is an incredible person. We sought out a trainer for our Morkie who proved to be very resistant, and difficult to train. Lady participated in the two week public board and train program. The Lady I met today is a very different girl than the Lady who entered training two weeks ago. Kody is someone you can trust. His attention to detail, and his dedication to his craft are second-to-none. Sincerely grateful for all that Kody and his team did for Lady and our family.
