We started bringing our two-year-old pitbull to day school at Runchkin Hill and also completed a 10-night board and train to help him work through stranger danger and build confidence around other dogs. The support and training from the Runchkin Hill team has been incredible—the results have truly been life-changing. Thanks to their guidance, we just enjoyed a weekend trip with eight new people and three dogs, and our pup showed no signs of aggression or anxiety. We couldn’t be more thrilled with his progress. If you or anyone you know is having difficulties with a reactive dog or a dog who simply needs training, you won't find a better team than Robin and her crew. My GF and I have an extremely reactive German Shepherd puppy who was restricting our lives greatly by not being able to walk around cars/people. Their expertise, compassion, and dedication have truly transformed the life of our Labrador Retriever, Brayden—and ours. When we first brought home Brayden at 10 weeks old, we quickly realized that he had not been properly socialized by the breeder. By that age, he should have had sufficient exposure to humans and environments, but he had not. The lack of socialization led to anxiety issues and heightened reactivity—he would jump and overreact to even the simplest things. His behavior was far from typical Labrador puppy energy. After multiple calls to the breeder expressing our concerns, their responses were not only dismissive but deeply troubling. Their suggested discipline methods were unorthodox and cruel, leaving us feeling lost and unsure of how to help our dog. In the wake of losing our two previous Labrador Retrievers—both of whom lived nearly 15 years—we had hesitated to bring a new puppy into our lives. But fate had a different plan, leading us to Robin and Runchkin Hill. On November 13, 2022, when Brayden was 12 weeks old, we brought him to Robin for an evaluation. Despite experiencing a family loss, Robin made herself available to meet with us on a Sunday afternoon—a gesture that spoke volumes about her dedication. She immediately confirmed that structured training, socialization, and desensitization were necessary and reassured us that she could help. What happened next was nothing short of miraculous. Beginning the next morning, Robin took Brayden in for an intensive, week-long training program, where he stayed overnight. We provided food, and Robin and her team took care of everything else. By the end of that first week, he was a completely different dog—confident, well-behaved, and showing signs of becoming the companion we had dreamed of. Robin’s methods are grounded in positive reinforcement and expert knowledge. With over 39 years of experience, she has built a reputation that is top-notch and highly sought after. Her training is never about punishment—it aligns with proper dog training standards as recognized by the AKC, which has officially certified Robin as a professional trainer. We worked with Robin and Brayden consistently for about 18 months, dropping him off one or two days a week whenever possible. A shift in work schedules made it difficult to continue for a while, but now, as he approaches three years old, we are back for Level 3 training—focusing on off-leash control. Though he is already a wonderfully behaved dog, we want to continue his growth and bring him to the next level. As always, Robin and her exceptional staff continue to impress us. They are highly knowledgeable, kind, and truly invested in each dog’s success. Their unwavering dedication ensures that every dog receives the best training possible. Brayden is thriving, and we know this continued training is shaping him into the best version of himself. The impact Robin has had on his life—and ours—is immeasurable. We have watched our once-anxious puppy grow into a confident, well-trained companion, and we know that without Robin, this journey would have been much more difficult.
