Rucker Dog Training

UPDATE: After a poor experience with the board and train, we have attended classes and worked closely with Scot to improve our dog’s leash manners. Scot has been extremely helpful and willing to work with us. Scot helped by exposing our dog to new public places to help improve his reactivity. While, we are still working with our dog, we have seen improvements. We appreciate all of the help from Scot and his team! Our 10 month old goldendoodle recently completed the board and train program. After reading several positive reviews, we decided to invest in the training we felt our puppy needed. Our puppy had two primary training areas we wanted to focus on: walking on the leash and not getting distracted by other dogs and people. The training did teach him a few commands while he was away for almost 3 weeks. However, we have seen little or no improvement walking on a leash. Our puppy’s daily routine includes 3-4 walks while using the e collar, consistent with the training. It is both disappointing and frustrating to see the committed time and investment in training yield minimal positive results. As a side note, picking up our puppy after 3 weeks it was clear he had not been cared for by the training staff. His fur was incredibly matted when we picked him up. Our usual groomer refused to cut him, fearful that it could harm him. We finally were able to find a groomer and had had to incur added grooming fee for de-matting a puppy. My suggestion for anyone considering Rucker for dog training is to be very clear about your expectations about the training itself what you expect, and how your dog is cared for while they are the facility.

I cannot say enough about Scot and his trainers. We have a 5 year old Rottweiler that was trained by Scot when he was 10 months old. We continue to visit on a regular basis for boarding when we go out of town for work or fun. We know whenever our Gunner is there he’s in great hands, receiving a lot love and treats all while using his manners. I recommend Ruckers ever chance I can to people looking for great trainers for their dogs.

Enroll your dog - You won't regret it! I can't thank Scot, Whitney & their team enough. I drove my wild, unruly 6mos old Golden from SC to GA for Rucker's In Home Board & Train - and WOW! He came home a different pup. They trained my dog and then Scot spent 2 days training me - probably the most important part. I am now back in control and my life is SO much better! Knowing that they are just a phone call/text away is a gamechanger as well (since I can't attend the weekly classes). They really care about you and your dog - highly recommend!
