Roots K9 Training

We had the pleasure of working with Mike from Roots K-9 Training, and we can't thank him enough for all the help he's provided for Stormi, our 2-year-old Husky mix. We adopted Stormi from an animal shelter a year ago and since being with us, she has struggled with anxiety, especially with crate training and being left home alone. On numerous occasions she tried to claw and bite her way out of the crate and scratched up walls and door casings when left alone and not in the crate. We were really at a loss about how to help her. Enter Mike! We’re so fortunate to have found him. We knew after the evaluation he did with Stormi that he was who we wanted to have train our girl. He answered all of our many questions with confidence and made sure we were comfortable before Stormi’s 4-week board and train. During the 4 weeks he made sure to keep us updated on Stormi’s progress through phone calls, texts and videos – something that a lot of other trainers and training companies don’t do. We could tell from the first video how much progress Stormi was making in just a little bit of time. It was evident that Mike truly cares about each dog he works with. With his guidance, we've already seen major improvements in Stormi’s behavior and confidence since she’s been home. Crate training is no longer a struggle, she’s much better at responding to our commands and she’s less anxious in the crate when we leave the house. Mike not only helped Stormi but also taught us valuable tools to continue her progress at home. We rescued Boogie, a 2yr old XL American Bully back in March to add a member to the family. He was a bit neurotic, super excited, reactive, but not aggressive. It did not take us long to figure out why people would want to give up on him with his behavior and his size. But we could not give up on him once he was part of the family, so we decided to reach out for some help with Mike at Roots K9 Training, and we are sure glad we did. It was amazing what Mike did with Boogie after just 3 weeks of board and train. Boogie came back to us and we couldn't believe it was the same dog. The knowledge, information, and guidance that Mike provided not only with training Boogie but with teaching us how to be able to handle him once he was home went well beyond our expectations.

Mike saved my dog! I’ve raised dogs my whole life and never had a dog like my joe(pitbull 60lbs), from the begging I couldn’t figure out why I couldn’t get him to behave, from inconsistent potty training to constant barking and lunging at things and people on walks, too curious about every single thing and I’d only see him relax asleep. I tried everything u can think to do from home, first time I saw my dog when he finished training I couldn’t believe my dog could be this level ever, I didn’t expect half the restraint getting him back and didn’t know what I was gonna do besides keeping him away from everything and home all the times.
