Ronin Canine

We are so happy to have found Anthony with Ronin Canine when searching for trainers local to the mountain (we are in Arrowhead). When we saw he was in Crestline, the variety of services offered, and is also a military veteran, we knew it was a match (my husband is also a veteran). Our Staffordshire Bull Terrier puppy, Ziggy, is proving to be a challenging new addition to our home and Anthony has been an incredible help with the training process. He’s is thoughtful, responsive and really great at explaining dog behavior through the eyes of a human. Staffies are notorious body slammers with high energy, and although our puppy loves all of the above, we are noticing his progress. We have done multiple training sessions at home and plan to continue as our puppy grows and learns. He also offers overnight training, which was so convenient when we had to go out of town for an event (Ziggy loved it and was happily wiped out when we got home). We highly recommend Ronin Canine for your training needs!

I cannot express how amazing Ronin Canine is! My partner and I moved to Crestline a few years ago and we were trying to find a dog boarder and trainer nearby (we have one maltese/terrier mix, and a retriever labrador mix), but we weren't having much luck in the beginning. My retriever labrador has seizures so we had to make sure we had someone who was comfortable with that and would know how to handle the situation. We had another trainer who seem concerned about boarding her because of her seizures, and when we went to do a consultation, they didn't try to interact with her at all, which didn't feel right to us. Then we saw all of the positive reviews Ronin Canine had on local FB groups, and decided to complete a consultation with them, and they were the complete opposite! Right away Anthony was interacting with both of my dogs, and being fully aware of my dog's seizures, he had no concerns and was happy to board them. While boarding them, he sends us videos and pictures which is really important to us to make sure they are ok. Anthony gives my dogs their medications as needed, and is just so amazing with them. It's hard for me to leave my dogs when I go on trips, but Anthony has made it much easier for me since I know they'll be in good hands. He'll always be my go-to for boarding and training!

I brought my German Shepherd Thor to Ronin Canine for the boarding and training program, and the experience was truly outstanding from start to finish. As any Shepherd owner knows, this breed is intelligent, driven, and needs proper structure—and that’s exactly what Ronin Canine delivered. I continue his training and boarding as part of his ongoing program. Anthony Cavello the trainer, is an absolute pro. He took the time to understand Thor’s personality, strengths, and areas that needed improvement. Thor came back more focused, obedient, and confident (of course he had more work to do, it doesn’t happen overnight. Anthony has not only trained Thor but me as well – I had to learn the tools to continue his training at home and he has taught me well. Thor has kept his playful spirit but always on guard to take care of me. It’s clear they don’t just “train” dogs—they build a real connection with both dog and owner to bring out the best in them. The communication was excellent throughout. I got regular updates, pictures, and detailed feedback on his progress, which really put me at ease. When it was time to bring him home, they gave us thorough instructions and continued support so I could maintain the training at home. I often meet at my home to make sure that I “stay trained”. The facility itself is clean, safe, and clearly designed with working breeds like Shepherds as well as small pups in mind. It’s more than a boarding place—it’s a place where dogs are challenged, respected, and truly cared for. If you have a German Shepherd (or any high-energy, intelligent breed), Ronin Canine is hands down the best place for training and boarding. I am so grateful for everything they’ve done for me and Thor —TRUE PROFESSIONALS!
