Rocky Top K9 LLC

I have used Rocky Top K9 twice now, a few years apart and I am just as satisfied the second round as I was the first! I had Jess this time, who was great with my Doby Nala. Jess knows what she’s doing, explains different methods of training, for example e-collar, clicker, positive reinforcement with treats, etc. While my family opts to use the E-collars because we have bigger dogs, I plan to incorporate the clicker as well with the guidance I received from the clicker queen herself! Within just 2 sessions there was a huge difference in Nala and what I needed her to do when I say to do it. It’s just great training methods. I drove 85 miles to the club and 85 miles back home; I’ll do it again with my next one.

Scottie has been a true blessing to work with! He’s helped me so much with my miniature dachshunds. I love that he isn’t just training my dog, he’s training me to be able to train my dog. I’m not sure who was more nervous when we started this process between me or my dog, but we are both doing so much better thanks to his help! My two female dachshunds had been fighting and that has completely stopped since starting training. I highly recommend Rocky Top K9!

We adopted 2.5y/o Dita from BCAC on 06 Nov 2023. From the 2 visits I had with her before, I knew she would need a solid foundation of training. We have another 4y/o wonderfully high energy but stubborn rescue whose initial training foundation also included e-collar training. We wanted to ensure they had similar foundations so we could build upon hers as we have with his. Rocky Top K9 was absolutely fabulous through Dita’s 2 week board and train! They were able to get Dita in quickly, which for better or worse, she decompressed while at her b&t and received a solid education in obedience. She refused to sit without treats when she first came home, and was essentially ‘institutionalized’ due to the length of time she spent at the shelter and as a stray. Scottie, her trainer, took a dog who barely knew how to “dog” and within 2wk, I picked up a well-mannered dog who knows her obedience commands perfectly. She has lingering behavioral issues we knew we would manage once she had this foundation and the e-collar training provides us another tool in which we can do this with. I received daily pics, videos, and regular calls on her progress and Scottie’s expert opinion on the behaviors she started to display as she decompressed. Those were immensely helpful in shaping the environment in our home to set her up for success from the beginning. Rocky Top K9 also went above and beyond to support our family as we went through an unexpectedly fast decline of my grandfather, and his eventual death out of state while Dita was still in training. Sandra and Scottie worked with us, even as Thanksgiving was approaching! The situation deteriorated quickly and they responded to every unfortunate update I provided. We were able to pick her up prior to Thanksgiving, and she returned with us when we attended the funeral. She was in a home with 40’something people, two days after finishing her training, and she was incredibly well-mannered, well-trained, and brought joy to my family at a time when we needed it most. As much as I fell in love with her at the shelter, I found a new depth of love for the well-behaved girl who acted as a sort of emotional support dog for my family at their darkest hour. I can never thank Rocky Top K9 enough for all they did for our family, for our Dita, and for the new life we’re building.
