About Rochester Canine Academy
Hi, I'm Alisson, owner of Rochester Canine Academy. I've been training dogs right here in Rochester since 1996, and I work one on one with puppies and dogs of every age. We focus on the everyday stuff that actually makes life with your dog easier, like leash manners, jumping, settling down, and listening when it counts. Everything is private and by appointment at our Winton Road studio. The programs are designed to be flexible so that we can focus on the things that matter to you the most. New clients start with a one hour evaluation, where I get to know you both and walk you through the options that fit your goals. My approach is balanced and tailored to each dog. Leash manners training helps owners work on pulling, focus, and calmer walks through RCA’s private lesson programs. We teach practical skills for clearer communication on leash, whether your dog is just learning or needs better habits around everyday distractions.

Allison worked a miracle with my Yogi. He’s got a good boy soul, but he was a very anxious pup, and had a hard time with barking and separation anxiety after I moved apartments. Allison worked a miracle with my Yogi. He’s got a good boy soul, but he was a very anxious pup, and had a hard time with barking and separation anxiety after I moved apartments. He would bark and misbehave whenever I went anywhere with him, and if I left him at home he would bark in his crate. We used to go everywhere together and it was really hard to not be able to bring him places. Allison took him on very short notice while I was unwell and in the time he stayed with her he learned to socialize more appropriately and came back with the good boy soul unlocked again. She helped him to conquer his anxiety and he’s doing better than ever. He goes everywhere with me again and doesn’t act out or misbehave, and he’s so much happier being able to go on adventures with me again, and I’m so much happier being able to take him! My entire family has gone to Allison with our dogs for years now and we are truly lucky to have her in our life. My Yogi and I owe her a big thank you, as just today he came with me to the hardware store, one of his favorite places, where he had been unable to go for months because he was misbehaving. As we keep making milestones and going on adventures together, I am reminded of how much better he is doing, and am so thankful for the kind and patient work Allison has done.
