I met Alex through another trainer. We recently adopted a 3 year old pitbull, and wanted her to have some manners. We began trying group classes, but unfortunately with her that ended up not being an option with how overstimulated she gets in certain environments. We began working one on one, and have only had two lessons so far. The difference in my dog is very encouraging. We ended up not being able to just train obedience, and needed to work on behavioral and anxiety issues. Alex has been there every step of the way, I can text her about any issues and hear back right away with good advice. Our hope is to get her anxiety and stimulation on leash under control, and eventually do obedience. I'd recommend Alex for any of your training needs! EDIT: Sadly, our dog had too many neurological issues, which in turned caused behavioral issues. Alex was there every step of the way, trying any and everything we wanted, even a failed board and train attempt. Zera failed through no fault of Alex, and Alex has been great in being there and giving advice/opinions when warranted. Down the road we plan to rescue again, and will absolutely be returning to Alex for hopefully just puppy and basic obedience! But should I come across a tough case again, I know she'd be willing to jump in and help in any way she possibly can. I can't thank Alex enough through all of this, and all she tried to do to help us.

Alex did such a great job with our little guy Pringles! We brought him to the Board and Train 3 week program because of his nonstop barking when he is alone in the apartment, printing neighbors to frequently complain. On top of this he did show lots of signs of resource guarding. On just Pringles' 2nd day home alone, we can see on our camera he is sleeping the whole time totally relaxed! Him being relaxed while alone is something I didn't think was a real possibility. Alex did great work and then spent 2 hours with us as we picked up Pringles to show us the nuances of his training that we have to keep up with. She is obviously so knowledgeable and really wants to teach dog owners how to give their dog what they need. I cannot say enough good things, if she can make my Beagle/Chihuahua mix stop barking, then she can do anything in my eyes. We will happily be bringing Pringles there anytime we need to board him over the weekend or vacation!

I truly can not say enough positive things about Alex and River’s Edge Canine. We brought our 1 year old pitbull, Charlie, in for a three week board and train program. Charlie has his own sort of crazy, stubborn, lazy (and also hyper) personality! Alex worked with Charlie to help him to learn to calm down (something we had a very tough time with) and how to work through his anxiety. He learned some basic obedience skills (which really nothing is basically with Charlie, because he fights it tooth and nail 😂), and how to loose-leash walk! Alex has made herself available for questions and concerns, and offered for us to come back to get a better feel for walking on the leash (it was super snowy!). She really focused on his individual needs, and on his very unique personality. We are so grateful for her expertise, kindness, reliability, and professionalism. Among other trainers we have met with, Alex truly shines above the rest! And our big Charlie is still our sweet, silly, wild pup.. but now with manners! 😉 Thank you Alex!
