Right Way K9 Training

We had a great experience training with Matt at Right Way K9 Training. He is extremely knowledgeable, patient, and truly understands dogs and their behavior. From the very beginning, it was clear that he genuinely cares about the dogs he works with and takes the time to build trust with both the dog and the owner. My dog is aggressive, anxious, and fearful and I went in not knowing how it was all going to go down. She went into her first session muzzled and tried to get Matt a few times. By the end of our sessions, she no longer needed the muzzle with him, recognized who he was, and no longer lunged at him. I also learned a lot as an owner. I initially expected my dog to come out of training as a “dog who loves everyone,” and I now understand that wasn’t realistic. What Matt helped us do instead was build a strong foundation. With time, consistency, and continued work on our own, I now have realistic expectations and see continued improvement in her fear, anxiety, and aggression. I highly recommend Matt to anyone looking for an honest, knowledgeable trainer who truly puts the dog’s well-being first.

I went into this pretty skeptical. We’d had a couple rough experiences with trainers/behavioralists in the area who jumped straight to “Let’s medicate your dog,” before trying any actual training. So my hopes were….low. But Matt changed that immediately. From our very first session to our last, he gave me the tools to help her to be a happier, more confident dog. Dolly, my Saint Bernard went from fearful and reactive to being able to calmly be in the company with other dogs without lunging or barking. Which felt impossible before. I’m also a crazy animal lover and was very happy with his tactics. I can walk her now without fearing being launched into traffic. Not exaggerating on this either. It’s happened. She now walks calmly beside me and everyone is happier and safer. Rightwayk9training is the real deal. Can’t recommend them enough! They helped Dolly tremendously but me as well and now I can continue her training at home. So happy I didn’t give up.

Matt, Harry and us. Harry is our 6th dog. We've had 2 other golden doodles (and 3 rescues) but Harry was different. We had been on the very verge of re homing him 5 times. We just couldn't do it. We knew there was a great dog in there somewhere despite his biting, jumping and complete lack of obedience. Enter Matt Slaughter. I called him and he explained that we and Harry needed his help. So, we sent Harry to Matt for 4 weeks. This was a difficult decision but we needed help, a break and Harry needed Matt.
