She was super communicative during the entire training with updates on both of them. I came in for the “people training” and spent 3 hours working with her and the dogs basically learning the best way to keep the training going at home. Both dogs are already doing waaay better with manners and listening. Can’t say enough positive things about Kendall and the team at Ridgeside K9 Winchester!

I don’t normally write reviews. But Ridgeside deserves a review, and I just need to.
We initially were just going to board our Ripley (1.5-year-old Fox Red Lab) for three nights while we were away. When we toured the facility, we learned that Aaron, the owner of the entire company, would be giving us the tour. He was extremely professional and showed us everything at the facility. He is passionate about what he does and the company he has built. My wife and I were impressed by him. The biggest thing that stuck out to me was how clean the place was. It didn’t smell at all. Aaron mentioned how important cleanliness was. The entire place was impressive, and we left with zero doubts about taking Ripley there.
A few days later, we decided to change the plan and do a board and train package. Setting it up was very quick and easy, and we set it up within hours. The customer service was great, and the paperwork was easy.
We met our trainer, Marina, when we dropped off Ripley. She’s very nice and clearly loves what she does. Everything went well for the first couple of weeks. We received updates and saw pictures on Facebook every day. It was clear Ripley was having fun and learning. Marina started telling us Ripley was sneezing and had lost some weight, but after checking with our vet, we decided to see how she progressed. Eventually, Marina texted to say she was worried about Ripley and thought she needed a vet visit. I thought it was much ado about nothing; I was wrong and Marina was right. I picked up Ripley, who was sneezing excessively, and took her directly to the vet. Two days later, it was confirmed Ripley had a rare variant of kennel cough that her standard vaccination had not protected against. THIS WAS NOT THE FAULT OF THE FACILITY. It happens and I do not blame them. Ripley stayed home for two and half weeks before finishing out the rest of her training. During the break, Marina kept in touch to get updates about Ripley. After Ripley was cleared by her doctor and returned to training, Ridgeside included an extra weekend, free of cost.
The turnover phase is where Marina and the business really shine. Marina is amazing, and what she did with Ripley was almost a miracle. The first hour and half was just my wife and me learning from Marina without Ripley. Marina was very thorough and patient with us. She explained everything clearly and is a very good teacher. When it was time to see Ripley, Marina again did a great job of teaching us what to do. We learned everything we needed to.
Since leaving a few weeks ago, we have really seen the fruits of our investment in Ripley. Her leash manners are just amazing. Before we took Ripley to Ridgeside, had no recall. We would take her to the dog park and spend 20 minutes trying to grab her to go home. This weekend she was at the dog park and came back immediately when called. We have texted Marina a couple of times since leaving, and she responded almost immediately.
When we got Ripley, we wanted a dog we could take to outdoor events and go places with. We wanted a companion, not just a house dog. We weren’t sure if we would get there. Ridgeside and Marina made it happen. They are amazing and the best investment we have made in our dog. I’d give them more than 5 stars if I could. Aaron, you and your team are the best. Thank you. We look forward to continuing to give you our business.
