It is imperative for puppies to receive proper foundation training. This is particularly important during the critical period which occurs from birth to 16 weeks. During this time puppies should be exposed to as much of the world as possible. Although we understand that they are still very immature and not capable of advanced behaviors it is during this time that puppies can be taught how to learn. Once they understand this process, using a marker based system, they can easily learn throughout their life!

Training starts immediately upon arrival for a board and train. Dogs will be taught a marker based system of learning. They will be taken out in the community several days a week and during this time they will be required to be neutral to their environment. Throughout training, we will continue to add in distance, duration and distraction to proof all commands and ensure a calm state of mind. We do not believe in one standard training method for all dogs. We will work with owners to build a program to meet the specific needs of their dog and family. We make ourselves available throughout training to answer any questions and alleviate any concerns. I had my Boykin trained by Cori. What a great experience. I really researched before making my decision to do this and it was 100% worth it. The key for me was in house board with the trainer. Cori was outstanding. She updated me daily on how Tinlee was doing ( including pictures and videos) . She also allowed me to meet her during the training for a session that I could participate in. I have Tinlee home now and she is doing so well with her behavior.
I highly recommend this business and my experience with Cori was amazing. She was always available for me to ask questions of and I could tell she loved what she was doing. Tinlee loved her. Thank you Cori for educating me and training my Tinlee. Great job 👏🏻

If I could give 10 stars, I would.
I have owned multiple GSPs for all of my adult life. After having 3 kids, we added a male puppy to the mix. Fast forward 1.5 years and he’s now 70lbs of muscle with 3 kids under the age of 8. Needless to say, our house has been chaos. In addition, we have opted not to neuter and it’s been very difficult to find someone capable of handling such a large and rambunctious dog when we go out of town. After some research, I decided on Ridgeside K9, specially their trainer Cori.
I didn’t have super high hopes because I knew she had a lot of ground to cover with such a high energy, prey driven dog.
Cori contacted me prior to starting and gave me a wealth of information regarding his training. We were given daily updates on each training session and what he was doing well, what he was still working on, with pictures and videos. We had a midway session where she met at a neutral location and we trained together. I opted to meet her for multiple training sessions to make sure I was well equipped to follow through with his training to keep him progressing.
I am completely blown away at the training she was able to do in a short 3 weeks. My dog has never seemed happier, had more manners or been more obedient. He’s home now and life is much less chaotic now that we have such a solid foundation with the work Cori put in. Forever grateful for her time, discipline and dedication to helping us achieve a much more pleasant life with our sweet pup.
The owner, Tara, was so easy to work with as well. She followed up within 24 hours of my inquiry for training, helped us get paired up with the perfect trainer for us and has been nothing but wonderful. Highly recommend and will definitely be making this training the first stop with our future pups too!

I have an 8 month old Chocolate Lab and a 3 year old German Shepherd that needed to be on the same page training wise. They have always been good dogs but when it came to manners Boone (the Lab) basically didn’t have any and Nola’s went right out the door as if she’d never had any formal training and grew up in the wild. Peja did a 3 week course with Boone and a 1 week refresher with Nola. They came back completely different from when they left in the best way! Our 1st walk after they got back was actually relaxing. I wasn’t constantly stopping for my GSD to smell something or mark something. The best part was walking by the house of one of their favorite people and him being able to greet them without being jumped on. They behaved so well he said it was like they were different dogs. Walking through the pet store to get dog food was a piece of cake even with all the distractions and other dogs. Peja sent video and updates daily, encouraged me to not be afraid to use a forceful NO if it was called for and definitely set me up to succeed in having well behaved dogs whether just at home or out in public. If I could have 10 stars I would.
