My husband and I had been talking about getting a dog since before we got married. We made the, arguably questionable, decision to get a puppy when I was 3 months pregnant. We knew she needed training, especially before the baby was born, and our skills weren’t cutting it. So we did some research and found Ridgeside K9. Jeff offers full service training where the dog stays with him and his team for the duration of the training. I felt completely comfortable because I knew she was receiving excellent care, structure, and love while she was away. We received updates with pictures everyday about progress and overall wellbeing. We were still careful once the baby was born, but thanks to Jeff and his team, she treats the baby like her own puppy. I could ramble for days about how grateful we are for Ridgeside K9. The ultimate takeaways for me are that Jeff (the owner and our main line of communication), is honest, to the point, dedicated, knowledgeable, and will go above and beyond for the families who are committed to improving their dog’s life within their family. He will also always do his best to answer questions and provide advice, even once your dog is back home with you. It took me a long time to finally find a trainer that I felt comfortable letting my dane, Beatrix, go to. I researched and contacted a few but they never clearly answered my questions. Except when I called Riverside K9 Nashville. Judy was able to answer all of my questions that I would randomly ask before setting a date for Jeff to meet my dog. When we first started, she was super nervous and scared of everything, reactive on walks and pulled on lease. Now, she seems more confident and calm. Needless to say her walks are great and now I can enjoy them as well. Oh and her recall now is amazing! Jeff updated me every night for 3 weeks and when he brought he home he took the time to explain everything in a way that made sense for me to keep up what she learned. It’s clear they truly care about the dogs (and their humans!). Beatrix and I’ve learned so much from their guidance. Ridgeside K9 Nashville completely exceeded our expectations! Our dog just finished their 2-week board and train program, and the transformation is unbelievable. She went in stubborn and hard-headed, and came home eager to listen, follow commands, and please. The communication throughout the process was amazing — we received daily updates, photos, and videos so we could see her progress and feel confident she was in great hands. Jeff was incredible at drop-off and pick-up, taking the time to explain everything and make sure we had the tools and confidence to continue her training at home.
