I contacted Nikki and Jay about our 1 1/2 year old Belgian Malinois, Zeus needing training. Within a few days they took him in and life will never be the same! Not only did Kendall, Zeus’ trainer, exceed our expectations, but she loves Zeus like her own! Everything about Ridgeside is what K9 trainers should strive to be! ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC COMPANY!!!! you get what you pay for! our puppy ghost was a barking, jumping, snack stealing, bundle of fun, but with a small toddler we couldn’t risk him taking his cute puppy features into adulthood. Our older dog wasn’t a fan of his high energy either. Because of Ridgside K9, our older dog and toddler (and mom + dad) are so much happier with him!! He stays in his place when told and waits patiently at the door to be let out. He even walks like a police dog on his leash!! (Not exaggerating!!!) They even gifted us a E-collar to continue training him at home!! The two weeks that he spent with Casey positively impacted him and have changed him forever! and have opened our eyes to the true impact high quality dog training can make on families!!! We highly recommend Ridgside K9 for boarding and training!!!! 10/10!!

Ridgeside K9 can definitely teach old dogs new tricks! I have a 14 year old pitbull mix, Holly. I met our trainer, Kendall through our gym and the opportunities sparked from there. The moto is to get better, no matter what you’re doing. I decided I’d like to level up my relationship with my dog and understand her better. Ridgeside K9 made that possible. I have had Holly for 13 years. She was adopted from a humane society and never had professional one on one training. She’s a great dog, don’t get me wrong. But I never understood why she responded defensively towards other dogs and why she wanted to attack cats. Kendall taught me a lot about behavior and how we need to communicate with our pets in order to have a positive result, before the unwanted behavior is even thought of. Within two sessions, Kendall had Holly walking nicely beside me, with a nice loose leash AND coexisting with not one but TWO cats. This dog would chase and, what seemed to me, try to attack cats in the past. It took ten minutes for Kendall to communicate what the appropriate behavior should be and reward the result, way before anything “bad” ever happened. By session three, she was off leash around another dog and recalling like a pro. Much of this is teaching the owners what their dog is communicating and how to respond to them in order to get your result. The benefits of this upscaled relationship between my dog and I are priceless. I am forever grateful for the experiences Kendall and Ridgeside K9 have provided. They have made my dog and our relationship better. So yes, you can absolutely teach an old dog new tricks. It’s never too late to make something or someone better.
