Tommy is definitely in the right profession. I had a wild basset hound pup that was ganging up on my 13 yr old basset/lab and biting everyone in the family with no manners or off switch. His board and train program turned him into an amazingly good boy. Hes able to play appropriately with our older dog, all crazy land shark biting is gone and we can enjoy his company now. I couldnt even take this pup for a walk without my clothing and skin getting torn up before. You can tell Tommy actually cares about animals and has really helped train me as well, how to continue helping my basset to thrive and be an enjoyable companion! Tommy has multiple options as far as training sessions and board and train, always willing to talk through things, be consistent, and informative! Highly recommend!

I was reluctant to get a dog trainer after recently rescuing a pup from Ruff Start. I felt confident I could train her through consistency and that she just needed time to settle in. Treats lead to temporary fixes and boundaries were tested. A few weeks after settling in, we had a list of things we needed to work on. Establishing boundaries in the yard (no fence) was our top priority followed by recall and redirects to elicit desired behaviors like when play gets too rough or begging during meal times. Tommy came in and showed us new and reliable techniques with the use of an e-collar, leash, toys, and treats. He has a calm demeanor and is deeply knowledgeable on dog breeds and behaviors. He is also very keen on understanding his clients' needs and setting attainable goals for owner and dog alike!

I have raised 6 well behaved dogs and thought I could apply past training to our 9 month old puppy, Teddy. His strong will and size proved to be a challenge we could not handle alone. Tommy gave us the tools to work thru Teddy’s lack of impulse control, jumping up on people, his counter surfing and pulling on the leash while walking. We now believe Teddy is going to be the best dog we’ve ever had and we owe the amazing changes to Tommy. His dedication to understanding dogs, how they think, react and respond is something to be experienced. His kindness and patience, his training skills and techniques foster trust within a dog and a clear path forward for the owner.
