Reflex Dog Training

We can not say enough great things about Reflex Dog Training and Dan Dudley our trainer! If you have a dog then you know already that they are full of energy and are drawn to those who can engage and direct this energy. From the moment we met Dan he was so excited to work with us and our two dogs. What are you looking for in a dog trainer? If you want to have someone take your dog and teach them to sit and recall, Dan is more than capable of doing this. However, who is to blame when the learned behaviors is not enforced at home and the commands are slowly forgotten or ignored? Dan does not just teach your dog but he also teaches you how to train with your dog. We went from having a large German Shepard and an energetic Whippet mix who were difficult to take on walks, to having two well behaved dogs who were able to take part in our wedding ceremony. That's right, our pups were front and center during the vows and we could not have been more proud of how well they behaved! Just a word for first time dog owners: Dan Dudley and the team at Reflex Dog Training truly care about you and your dog and they want the very best for both of you. With this said, if you are not looking to put in the effort, or are just looking for a quick fix instead of a true bonding and training experience, you may want to ask yourself what your reason is for getting a dog and figure out if this is really the right fit or time. Some dogs can need a lot of training, but they are also an amazing addition to your family! Dan helped us get comfortable with our very energetic lab rescue. He helped us tremendously with leash walking (no more blistered hands), and taught us how working on basic training every day can be both fun for her and tire her out! We can not recommend him enough! 5 years later, we still use Dan and Betsy for our occasional boarding needs and Lexi always loves to jump right in their car...see ya later Mom and Dad!

Race, my mom’s yorkie, and I worked with Dan during our photo shoot with Dog Proof Photography. Within just a few minutes of meeting, Dan was able to read Race like a book. Dan’s love for what he does truly shined through and Race, who is very unsure of new people, was able to pick up on that and they worked so well together! I’ve never seen Race so confident around someone he had never met. I am looking forward to working with Dan in the future!

Where do I begin? Without Dan I probably would not still have my 5 year old German Shepherd. He was a challenging pup for me in his juvenile years and Dan very patiently worked with me to learn how to work with my pup Quinn and become partners. I learned there is more training for the owner or handler than the dog! My dog adores Dan and I have learned so much from him. Quinn is now very well trained and a gentleman. We would still be working with RDT if we had not moved out of state and when we move back home, we will work with him again. I highly recommend RDT! Dan is the dog whisperer of New England!
